I saw this as well, can't wait!

And since they seemed to have increased production to about 2000-2500 boxes, it should be easier to get :) Although I am disappointed they are done with the first goldie and not bringing it back.

Saw these when I visited the El Titan De Bronze factory just before Chrismas....Can't wait!!!

I was there late on a Saturday and didn't get to see Maria working on them but the guy who was there told me that they were in the works. Here's a spy photo from their storage area....

That's a thing of beauty, Rupe. The only downfall on these look to be the price tag. I wouldn't be surprised if they're right at $20/stick. I liked the original Goldie so much, that'd I'm prolly gonna buy a box of these new ones regardless though.

Was there yesterday with Willy and they look like the shizzle. Exactly constructed like a behike. Beautiful!!! Didn't get to try one though! :(

besides the MSRP more than likely rising, noted in the article from HW that it will be availible to 'select retailers'.... pretty sure these will be going for stupid prices on CBID, or if they even make it there :/

Kind of off topic, but is "Goldie" a nick name for that blend(the bands) or a specific size in the line? I'm assuming the entire line are known as goldies?
The full name of this new rendition is La Palina Goldie Laguito No. 5 (6 x 54). The original is La Palina Goldie Laguito No. 2 (6 x 38). They're named after Goldie Drell Paley, who was the wife of the founder of La Palina cigars, Sam Paley.

In the article in Half wheel potential line extensions for the La Palina Classic... Including a lancero... Were also mentioned. A lance in that line would be fantastic!

I gotcha. I guess I could have clicked the link first. :homer:

I meant I thought it was a nickname for the La Palinas with gold bands. Of course, this was before I realized that all of their cigars used gold bands. :hanghead:

Has anyone tried one yet?
Not yet. I'm still waiting on mine. I have seen a lot of posts on the NC purchases thread. Hopefully we will get a review soon. I'm eager to hear the verdict on the new release.
I tried one this past weekend and was not disappointed, IMO just as good as the no. 2. It is obviously different than the 2 given the big change in RG, but just as good to me :)
