As others have said, huge difference if thinner vs fat ring gauges are the norm. Thinner sticks burn hotter, so they tend to be spicier or fuller in body than their fatter kin. You usually have to smoke them a bit slower, though, lest they become TOO hot and get bitter!

I find that the flavors usually "pop" more for me in the thinner rings. My advice? Pick a couple of your favorite blends, and try lanceros, lonsdales, or coronas and see what you think!! At the least, it will be a good experience and challenge your palate.

I prefer the smaller ring gauges such as Le Hoyo du Gourmet or HdM Hoyo de Dieux, I find the you get a lot more of the intended flavor profiles from the wrapper with the smaller gauges.

It really depends on the blend for me, I think the ration of wrapper vs filler and binder makes a huge difference. Also some cigars are specifically blended for a certain size. Its really comes down to your palate. I usually prefer smaller ring gauges but that is not always the case. Smoke what you like and trust your taste.

My lady called me frantically while I was out of town on business. Claiming the mailbox was nowhere to be found. Upon arriving home I found out why! Thank you King Kill 33! Look forward to trying out some of this lancero goodness! I am acquiring some smaller RG's in my faves to blow your mailbox up with!

Hey dude, the MF, Cain and V are kinda the go to lances for myself and others it seems. Fairly easy to find. The VI and the Padron are wild cards. For me the VI is almost right up there with the brown label Especials. No biggie man, just thought if you wanted to try some, these would be a nice Lancero Beginners Pack. Enjoy.

certain sticks are better in certain rg's, imo. for me anything bigger then around a 54 rg, is too much, my bud puts it best (and i quote) " i dont like feeling like im sucking a cock, instead of smoking a good cigar"

Amen brother. I'm not a fan of 54+ either, and that is one of the reasons (subconsciously of course).

So he prefers a pencil d!ck instead? Lol, jk! I have yet to try one of these bad boys. Letting them rest from their epic journey from the oil fields of bygod Minot, ND to Charlotte, NC. Think the Oliva V will meet its fate tomorrow night. I love the Oliva V double toro 6x60. Big a$$ donkey d!ck!

For me personally, I've caught on to the lancero or lonsdale vitolas, they teach me to smoke low and slower so I savor the flavor. Most of the lanceros I've had have more flavor from the wrapper over the larger RG vitolas in my experience.

When a new brand or line comes out that gives me choices in size. I'm going for the lance, if its there, every single time. If there's no lance I'm going for the smallest ring gauge 110% of the time. I smoke my share of 54's and such, and enjoy them, but only because its the only size. Limiteds and what not.

I've been a fan of big ring gauges forever, but it was the Tat 7th Reserva that turned me onto smaller vitolas. To be fair, I've been smoking my way through a few sampler packs of J. Fuegos, and they definitely have a different flavor profile in the belicoso sizes, rather than the typical toro/churchill sizes I prefer. Of course it might be that I'm paying more attention too, and that i'm not in a lounge but most of these sticks are 52/54 and shorter.

My Tat Black smoked just fine but the lancero was just to die for, though it didn't have the age my last tat black did (about three years)
