As others have said, huge difference if thinner vs fat ring gauges are the norm. Thinner sticks burn hotter, so they tend to be spicier or fuller in body than their fatter kin. You usually have to smoke them a bit slower, though, lest they become TOO hot and get bitter!
I find that the flavors usually "pop" more for me in the thinner rings. My advice? Pick a couple of your favorite blends, and try lanceros, lonsdales, or coronas and see what you think!! At the least, it will be a good experience and challenge your palate.
