What does everyone do with their bands?

I like this idea. I'm going to do some more brainstorming on this one, thanks!
Some kind of ashtray would look cool. If you could get a stock ashtray somewhere and cover it with the bands and seal it with something so that they wouldn't burn. Just thinking out loud since I have been collecting mine for a while as well.
Get a crystal ash tray, and adhere them to the underside of it so they show through, then cover the bottom with a layer of felt to seal the deal... just an idea. Would need a crystal clear adhesive that won't whiten or yellow as it dries/ages, but it's an easier task than finding a coating that won't scorch or burn if you put them on the inside of the tray...

EDIT: Or you could get a stinky tray and adhere them to the outside then clear...
I do have a crystal ashtray, next time I get outside for a smoke I am going to have to test this band on bottom theory to see how well it shows through. That would mean I would have to keep the top of the ashtray somewhat clean so that they could show through.

I actually have been collecting bands and I have an end table going into my man cave which I plan on covering the entire top with different bands and then glossing them so they don't move. Just what I'm doing with them.

Collecting the bands for these frames pushes me to get outside my comfort zone to try new smokes.

That is awesome! I've seen where guys have made a collage of bands in a frame and while it looks much easier than what you did here, it's not that attractive. How did you lay it out and what adhesive was used?

Amazing.
I measured the width of the columns with pencil marks then cut the bands accordingly. Glue sticks temporarily hold them in place while modge podge seals them in permanently. Takes some time but it helps it look organized... At least i think so.

Im planning on sanding down my coffee table, pasting them down and laying epoxy down on top. But for now....ziplock bags

This is more or less what I'm inevitably going to do. Right now I have several ziplock bags filled with bands, but eventually (when I feel like I have enough), I plan on putting them on my bar and laying epoxy down on top so that the bar top is covered with the band collage.

I've been kicking around the idea of doing a set of coasters---like glass ones that you can either put the bands inside so they show through or maybe some non-glass ones and sealing them up with some sort of sealant.

i like the coaster idea. I gotta order a few more brown bag samplers from CI to get enough different bands. Now I have to be on the hunt for clear crystal coasters.

Some of the uses I've found for bands:

These were done by a friend and sent to me as part of a bomb:

Coffee table:

Another little table:

I used ModPodge and these pictures were all taken before a clearcoat was sprayed ontop of it to "seal".

I've been hanging on to mine, and done nothing with them...

I'll end up throwing them out when I move, or giving them to somebody who can actually use them.

Though this thread is prompting me to pick up a review notebook and tape the bands in there.

Well, with my bands, I've always played drums... They are my primary instrument. (ba dum bum ching!)

In truth, I've been pressing mine out flat fore the past couple years... Not sure what I'm going to do with them yet, but always looking for something.

If your actually going to throw them away if you wouldn't mind stuffing them in an envelope and mailing them over I'd gladly put them to go use. Just asking.

I'm coming out with a brand of cigar band condoms. Trying to get in with some of the big cigar manufactures to send them out in their boxes.

Please tell me part of the marketing copy will incorporate the words "smoking" and "pole"

10/10 would buy.

Most of my bands go in a barrel somewhere, but I do collect the silks, and will eventually have a pillow case or blanket or whatever
