I have a review binder (w/ what, when, like dislike, ect) and I just kept glue sticking my bands to the cover, once it was full I used clear coat. All others are in a cigar box waiting for another idea/project, I like the crystal ashtray idea. :cbig:

I'm coming out with a brand of cigar band condoms. Trying to get in with some of the big cigar manufactures to send them out in their boxes.

Please tell me part of the marketing copy will incorporate the words "smoking" and "pole"
Of course obviously. There wouldn't be any marketing strategy without those words.

I used an old tin Camel sign and have been pasting it with bands for at least 4 years once it's totally covered I plan on clear coating it. Everyone that's seen it likes it.

I have been collecting the ribbons that band cigars together inside new boxes as well as cigar bands. Dont know what I will do with the ribbons but my bands go into a glass Hammer and Sickle cigar box which looks pretty cool

Hmmmm...I have just been throwing mine away along with any cello that it came in. But, that idea about an ashtray is cool as hell. Me thinks I will be saving my bands. Here is some idea of how to do that to a clear ashtray: You can get decoupage clear sealant at your local crafts store, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc.( I have used this with other projects ) Turn the ashtray upside down, place the bands where you want them a bit of clear Elmer's glue will affix them, them start putting coats of the sealant on them. You can make it as thick as you want if you continue to add coats, but add it thinly as a run is a bitch to even out. Put a nice piece of felt on the bottom when finished and bam!! This sealant is heat and scratch resistant, making it almost indestructible.

I have saved 99% of the bands from cigars that I have personally smoked over the last 3 years. I have a project in mind using the Liga bands but will wait until I do it to post pictures or provide info. Should be awesome. Right now they are in glasses that arent used on our bar. Running out of glasses though.

Look up cigar silk quilts. There's a lot of cool things you can make with those.. Throw pillows, tapestries, whatever.

I've got a wooden medicine cabinet that I use to store my tins of pipe tobacco in. I've been using the bands as shelf paper, but I haven't worked on it in a while.

Collecting the bands for these frames pushes me to get outside my comfort zone to try new smokes.
Spreading hate and discontent since 2005.
That is awesome! I've seen where guys have made a collage of bands in a frame and while it looks much easier than what you did here, it's not that attractive. How did you lay it out and what adhesive was used?

Amazing.
I measured the width of the columns with pencil marks then cut the bands accordingly. Glue sticks temporarily hold them in place while modge podge seals them in permanently. Takes some time but it helps it look organized... At least i think so.

Again, that is awesome! It speaks to me as a cigar lover and as someone who enjoys straight lines. Can't wait to try this one myself.

Mostly I throw them away, unless they are significant but as of late I have glued them to the inside of some of my cabinet doors. If I remember I will post a pic.
