I live in Hawaii and while there are a lot of antis and nanny government here, we smoke where we can. Our city council recently passed a bill where you now can't smoke in municipal parks and beaches. Municipal parks also included GOLF COURSES. Geez. Well our politicians amended it to exclude the fairways and greens. Wow. Taxes are pretty steep (50%) and shipping increases everything. Aside from that, we have great weather (ironic that a storm is approaching), great food, and great people.

I've lived in San Diego, Las Vegas, and South Florida. San Diego has great stores with Excalibur and Liberty Tobacco, and year-round perfect cigar weather. The problem is anti-smoking laws in California make it an inconvenience for cigar smoker, and they have high taxes making expensive. Vegas is great for cigar smokers as the taxes aren't bad, and you have good weather. Florida in my opinion is the best of the three as you have year-round cigar weather, low taxes, a large quantity of stores, and it's close enough to a lot of major brands so they have better access to harder-to-find cigars. South Florida has great stores through the three major counties (try Aficionado's in Broward). Orlando has Corona, which is an awesome store.

no offense, seattle and the mason-dixon line are a walk in the park compared to north dakota (heavy on the north). I know a guy that froze his nose so bad one winter that he's got a permanent big purple ring around each nostril. Poor guy, it's hideous.

Lol, it is relative, as you say.

I would have to say Nashville due to the weather and the fact that you can still enjoy a smoke inside when the weather turns. I live in Madison, WI now and we have three great places to smoke when the weather turns to crap, which is about six months out of the year.

As a SoCal BOTL I can tell you that you are very limited as to where you can smoke here in Cali.

In LA county it is illegal to smoke anywhere they serve food. Some LA city golf courses have banned cigars, but everyone seems to ignore those signs. There are cities like Calabasas where you can not smoke walking down the street. There are many beaches that have banned smoking. There are cities like Glendale where you cannot smoke in your own apartment or anywhere you share a common wall with a neighbor. Most hotels do not allow smoking but many high end hotels have brought it back in limited areas.

As for great cities to smoke in? When I was in South Beach last, there where very few places I could not smoke. It was heaven!

I'd say New Orleans. Used to be, you could smoke anywhere. Then a couple of years ago, the a-holes in the state government put through a state-wide ban on smoking in restaurants. However, you can still smoke in bars, casinos and pretty much anywhere else, and the weather is usually good for smoking outdoors (except for the summer, at least until you get used to the temperature and humidity).

I can tell you where isn't going to top the list, SLC, Utah. COLD in the Winter/HOT in the Summer, VERY low humidity, VERY HIGH cigar tax(highest in the US I believe).

That said, I love it here....
