Hey guys. Sorry if this thread exists already. It's such a general search topic that tons of threads came up. But I'm looking for some thicker Spanish cedar to line my coolidor. I have been using a bunch of the thin sheets that come in boxes between layers of cigars and whatnot but they break easy and it just annoys me cause im OCD. So do any of you have any suggestions as to where I can get thicker than paper cedar to line my coolidor. I don't really want to break up boxes and use the pieces. It doesn't need to be super thick but thicker than what you might use as a cedar spill. I like the smell and taste the cedar lends to my cigars.

Hey Britt, I am in the market too. There is a place in Phoenix I'm pretty sure. I'm looking for 1/4" thick stuff to do the same as you described. If you find them let me know, or maybe we can work something out.

+1, I would like to add some thicker sheets of cedar to my humi. However, I would disagree with going to your local lumber yard, if it was that simple I would have already done it. We need kiln dried spanish cedar, not the cedar used for building saunas or smoking salmon on. Usually this is found at specialty wood working shops like Woodcraft.

My exact thoughts. And I actually called one this morning just to be sure and he said He has cedar but not Spanish kiln dried cedar. And that he was 99% sure none of the other limber yards carried it. He recommended a wood carving place that I am gonna call after 10 lol. I'll keep you in the loop. I can always grab it for you and flat rate it out if the place doesn't ship.

Well in denver we have two lumber shops that had Spainish Cedar kiln dried in stock. I'm sure you guys in Phoenix can find some also. Not only places like woodcraft sell it trust me.

I'd recommend trying to get lids from slide-lid boxes.
I considered this but I feel like asking my b&m for specifically slide top boxes is a little demanding. I have a great relationship with my b&m but I'm also still new there. Maybe with some time I will start asking him to put them aside.

I also found an easy way to make shelves for a 48qt cooler so I may post that up when I do it. I'm thinking if I can put shelves in stand it up and line it with some nice cedar boom I have 200-250 count or maybe more that will in total cost about 70$ or less. It was 12.99 for the igloo 9.00 for the shelf stuff and we will see about the cedar lol.

So that guy was pretty great. I called gave him the measurements and he quoted me 6.41$ a square foot and said I'd be fine with a 4x4' at most a 4x6 board. If I want to be able to mess up once. But he thinks he only has 3/4in thick...and he said he has no clue if its kiln dried. He gonna find out and call me back.
