Well I think it's a good thing... I mean, it's always so smokey in my B&M when I go in to buy cigars.... :stickbeat

And while we're at it, how about all this drinking alcohol in bars....

Everyone will throw money at it and it will go away. Do you really think the casinos in this state are going to let a smoking ban go into place?

you know, we should also have some concern about these gas stations pumping gas into cars, the cars wouldn't pollute if we didn't burn gas... we should ban the use of gas in autos immediately.

They could just make it mandatory that in order to leave your house in the morning you must be wrapped in at least two inches of bubble wrap, that way if you fall down you don't get a booboo.

Oh man... God forbid they let people smoke in a lounge. Especially if they are paying monthly dues for that reason alone...

Instead of saying "geesh thats a bummer"....how about joining the CRA? They are a lobbying group that fights these kinds of bans. I joined. One person alone has a small voice, but when many folks pool their resources, you can really make a difference. Look at the NRA, they have a huge influence, and they're just a bunch of regular folks with a common interest.

This is the way it is out here in Utah. When we have an event we have to smoke under a tent in the parking lot at least 25 feet from any door

Unbelievable that we have laws against this.

I just did a quick search, the first bill, the smoking indoor ban at cigar shops, is unfortunately being brought forward by Republican.

The reason that is unfortunate is that it looks like Republicans have the majority in the Senate and the House.

That doesn't mean the bill will definitely pass at all, but it stands a decent chance starting off like that.

The last bill, the one about raising the tax, that is being brought forward by a Democrat, and since Dems are in the minority, not to mention Repubs don't generally like bills that raise taxes, the second bill probably doesn't have that much of a chance.
