Haven't made one myself, but there are several places that make/sell them. Other than the look, it seems an odd way of storing as you would get more per container if they were flat/wide, v. tall/thin.

Same as Tim, never built one but have seen some nice ones done. The ones I have followed or checked out are from Ammodor, some good looking stuff and would be great for a man cave.

Problem solved with this one Tim.

It looks cool to me but I'd worry about sanitizing the things. I've been around more than a few and never found one that didn't have some sort of odor to it. Plus the paint can be pretty nasty too depending on the boxes origin. I'd think to do it right you'd want to sandblast everything and then start over. I'm curious how ammodor does their cleanup.

I've never met an ammo can that didn't stink something fierce, but that one's pretty awesome.

What's up guys? Thanks for all the comments. You've brought up a good point about the cleanliness of ammo boxes - it's not recommended that anyone just grab an old ammo can and turn it into a humidor. Most are dirty and stinky to say the least. Doing so will likely ruin your cigars and could even make you sick…or worse.

We've been building Ammodors™ for almost 15 years and have a very time consuming and proprietary cleaning process that we do with all of our surplus ammo cans. It's a multi-step process that involves high pressure rinsing, scrubbing with a mild detergent, and other cleaning steps using all-natural solutions. The end result are ammo cans free of any previous odor or chemical residues - perfectly ready for your smokes.

We even use a very limited amount of low-VOC, non-toxic adhesive in the construction of our humidors. The only odor left will be of spanish cedar!

Those are just props for photo purposes - empty boxes. :)
