Overpaid for a tin of Frog Morton Cellar today. I'm somewhat OK with that, though, because the shop actually had it locally (in TX) and I want to encourage that.

The rope in bulk comes quite moist. Well very moist. It needs some drying time before packaging for aging. Might throw it in the oven set on low to dry it a bit. Or I might just leave it to.dry on its own. Smells so good.

IIRC, there was a "which cigar looks like a turd" thread. Too bad you didn't have a pic of this at the time...
Being the pipe noob that I am, I never knew baccy came in ropes like that. And am I reading that bag correctly? Does that say 500g?

That is a 500g helping of the rope. I ordered a 500g bag of the black version a while ago. I like blending them together with some latakia and lighter virginias for a home blend.

That sounds really good. I have been eyeballing those ropes. Do you cut them into flakes and rub them out to add to the blend?

Yeah I cut the coins and then cut each coin across its diameter and rub them out. Now I will also sometimes I press it into a cake like in my "I like to play with my tobacco!" thread once a bit dried. They come real moist.
