Kinda cool for people that like the KFC but this is literally the worst idea I could think of. The KFC has to be my least favorite cigar I've ever smoked. Although some people love the crap out of them.

Limited Edition/Production cigars are a fun dynamic to the cigar industry. There are way too many great cigars out there to get worried about missing out on a release here or there.

Most of the time these cigars are limited because of the amount of rollers involved or availability of tobacco. Drew Estate is a HUGE factory and make a ton of cigars. If they were to dedicate a dozen rollers to each LE then production would suffer in other areas.

The chase of LE cigars is only as fun as you want it to be and at the end of the day it's just a cigar.
Preach.

With time the new smokers that are chasing lousy sticks will learn to appreciate good cigars. Flying this, flying that, pigs, cats, rats. Rubbish

I'm pretty much over DE...tired of the limited this or that. ..besides, it leaves more cash to by Petes stuff which is much better anyway IMHO.

I'm not a DE fanboy by any means but I do enjoy several of their products. In the past I greatly enjoyed the Flying Pig releases for the #9 and the T52. Excellent cigars that were different, fun, and IMO had a vitola that brought out additional nuances that I didn't taste in other vitolas. Having said that, I couldn't give 2 shits about a KFC release but someone out there must like them if they are going to dedicate time and resources to a project that befuddles me.To me, they should just re-release the old ones. There will be no problem selling them and everyone wants them. Seems like a layup to me.

The thing that kills me about the DE releases is the silliness of the distribution. There's not any rhyme or reason as to who will get what when. It's very annoying and makes the chase exceedingly difficult when compared to any other LE release. If they simply released boxes once or twice a year they would be way easier to find. Fuente does exactly that with Anejos and Opus and it works out just fine.

I have grown frustrated with DE completely taking the the elusive Unico's out of the equation just trying to track down Nica Rustica has been harder than it should be, granted it is now way easier to find them online but my b&m never gets any, and I really don't think the world is clamoring for another vitola of Under Crown which if you really did want to try has been a pain in the ass. I know Unico are suppose to be a semi regular production and Nica Rustica are regular production they should not be this hard to find. Also, there have been several posts/videos about how the weather has been detrimental to the tobacco yield but if thats the case don't call the sticks semi regular production make them a limited one and done and call it a day.

This is all coming for a Tatuaje fan boy but all of Pete's limited releases as of late have been easier to come by, I mean there are still jars readily available. I know its apples to oranges comparing the two but I am off the DE Bandwagon, if I find Nica Rustica on the shelves I'll grab it but I am no longer actively seeking things out, there are a lot of options out there at a great price point that are readily available that I'll stick with.

Rant Over :smokingbo
I totally understand but if your gonna be a HTF chaser then that just comes with the territory. If there were less "liga whores" then you wouldn't have to pay over MSP for them. Your just adding to the the secondary market. They have some great smokes, and trust me I have quite a few boxes. However, instead of chasing them around on the secondary market, I just wait for them to make it to a vendor and pick them up . There are a ton of good smokes out there to enjoy without stressing over searching for a certain line of cigars.

Just my 2 cents.

I'll admit I'm a DE fanboy....kinda

ACIDs got me into premium cigars about a year ago. Cant stand them anymore... I tried my favorite cigar from a year ago according to my cigar journal that I started when I really began to enjoy cigars, the Extraordinary Larry ACID. I put it down and walked away.

My number 1 current favorite cigar is Herrera Esteli Lonsdale.
Others that fall in the top 10 are the Undercrown rob and Nica Rustica.

I've only tried the little mixed filler papas fritas from the liga line. I have three or four of the special edition/ limited release/ htfwtf sticks but haven't lit any of them.

I've had several undercrowns. Enjoyed most of them, but either they were inconsistent or my preferences changed during the course of working through the ones I bought. Either way, I have about 6-7 left that I'm going to sit on for a long while before revisiting because the last two I had, were not what I wanted in a cigar...

The KFC's... the small baitfish size isn't bad. It's unique but not overpowering and good for a rare occasion. Makes for great trade fodder or a gift cigar due to the uniqueness. The larger gauge not so much, the couple I've had were overwhelming and went sour pretty quickly.

The flying pig LE HTF WTF BBQ cigar doesn't do anything for me. I get the point from a business perspective, but at the same time I have a hard time buying into the idea that a LE cigar destined for a niche market would bring more money than keeping up with demand on other lines, like the HE lanceros/ lonsdale. Personally, I'm not buying. I'm not even tha much a fan of the Liga or Undercrown lines atm. I'm a huge fan of the HE line. But, I'm sure I'm the minority with regards to DE's market.

I really don't like the way they distribute Unicos, just as Master Shake stated their distribution sucks. For something that is supposed to be semi regular production it should not be impossible to find, its one thing if I was bitching about not being able to find some Quesada España which has like 50 boxes but I don't think a line that is suppose to be semi regular production should be impossible to find.

"Semi-regular" is not relative to other companies. It would be to their own lines. Undercrown would be Liga's "regular" line with the Unicos being their "semi-regular". Watch a few videos that Drew put out himself about the tobacco used etc. and you will realize why they can't produce Ghurka quantities of this stuff. Even if they were able to put out another 200 boxes of each Unico people would still complain about how they can't find any. Reason being is because people like them, people want them and they fly off the shelves because they are good. If they weren't good we wouldn't even be discussing this.

Bottom line is they don't physically have enough tobacco to keep up to the demand. Or at least thats what I took out of the video posted last year.
So them going out and making a new vitola isn't taking away from making more Unicos. The KFC tobacco is ready to be used and the Unico blends likely aren't.

I'm am not asking them to flood the market I am asking them to produce enough so that they are somewhat attainable and not have a two stick limit at certain vendors. I guess we don't see eye to eye but that's fine I am just done with DE.

Thanks for the warning. I couldn't finish both of the KFC's that I have tried. This flying pig can pass me by.
