Never let a crappy cigar ruin your mood. I don't smoke for the cigar, in and of itself, I smoke for the experience. I'm okay with smoking a crappy cigar as long as the experience was good.It affects me a lot.
I don't get to smoke but a few times a month so I really look forward to a good cigar during those times.
What a let down when I get a crappy cigar.
DittoIf it's that unpleasant I'll pitch it a grab something I know I'll like.

My best friends parents brought back from Mexico 5 Cubans in a glass topped box. I sat with them, and my buddy, while I smoked a "Cuban" and enjoyed every minute. Thankfully, the cigars weren't rolled carpet, but, they were bad, hell, very bad. But the experience was awesome!!!
Perfectly put! Short answer...NoLife is too short to smoke bad cigars and it's even shorter to get worked up over something like smoking a bad cigar. Pitch it, grab a different one and enjoy.
I agree, in principle. However, sometimes if you have a lot invested in that cigar (time/place/money/memory) it can be very disappointing if it fails. For example, I have boxes of cigars set aside to smoke once a year on my kids' birthdays. I'll be kinda bummed if they suck (I doubt they will, but anyway...). Or if I light up one of the very few expensive or vintage sticks I've been saving for a special occasion; I'll be really bummed if I spent $50 on a plugged stick or a windtunnel or something that turns out wasn't taken care of.Life is too short to smoke bad cigars and it's even shorter to get worked up over something like smoking a bad cigar. Pitch it, grab a different one and enjoy.
