I got my trays from Wineador in yesterday but I'm not sure I like how wide the gaps are between the slats on the bottom. I didn't think the gaps were quite that big. I don't want to worry about sticks falling through. Any idea on a mesh/screen to line these with to fix that problem?

I would maybe see if a B&M has some cigar boxes that have the thin sheets of cedar in them. You might be able to line the trays with that, but it might not be the prettiest option.

you can pick up a plastic mesh screen/fabric at most fabric stores that could easily be tacked or stapled to the bottom if you wanted to try that...

Ive got the same wide gaps in my trays... really havent been a problem at all.... and I typically smoke shorter vitolas... YMMV

Personally I would send 'em back if I didn't get what I paid for before rigging up something.... my .02
Gotta agree. I ordered mine from there as well. My gaps are probably not half that big. (Purely from memory though, would have to really look into it).

They are the perfect size for my Tupperdore and like the quality. They match the pic on Amazon but just didn't think the gaps were quite that big. If I can't find a cheap easy solution and don't like how they are as is once I put them in I may send them back. Letting them season a week in the basement so I will see what solution I can find before then.

How many cigars you plan on keeping in there? If there's enough, they won't turn to that angle, and should be OK.

I agree I wouldn't have expected that wide, but I don't think its especially problematic if you keep enough cigars in there. Perhaps add some separators to keep them from going sideways, too.

My stash is only about 60 sticks right now. Probably enough to have a full layer on 2 of the 3 trays. I was gonna use one tray on the bottom for my HTF sticks that I don't smoke as often but I'll fill 2 trays up and see where I'm at. If the two aren't quite full ill just put the third the bottom empty.

You just haven't slipped down the slope enough yet...

Give it 3 more weeks.. You'll be staring at 220 sticks.. And wondering why you didn't order more try's or buy a bigger cooler ...

Speaks the truth. At about month 2 I had my winadore setup. Less than a month later I was looking for another but the wife stopped me. I did end up with some Tupperware and now that's full. Still need to sneak that second wineadore by her 😉

When I joined here I'd been smoking off and on for 15 years... But never had a need for anything larger than my 100 count desktop...

Within a month I was in a small wineador

A few months after that.. An 800 count cabinet...

And now... Just 2 years after joining.. I'm considering something bigger lol...

This place sucks! :)

I have this same problem with my current racks in my wineador. I haven't built my cedar drawers yet but plan to pick up some plastic screening for the time being.

I've been trying to convince the wife to let me buy a storage container and convert it to a walk in humidor, so far, no luck. She said something about me being insane and walked off shaking her head.

Man, I just don't know what's wrong with her...

Ive bought them from cheaphumidors.com ... not a bad product at all.. and a very good price... ships quick.. etc..etc..

you loose the advantage of maximizing storage space though that you get with custom trays that are built specifically to the dimensions of your wineador/coolerador/cabinet/etc...

I'm in the camp that says if you have enough cigars in there, you probably won't have a problem... but I wouldn't be comfortable with the size of the gaps personally.

It is odd that the gaps are so big... the slats in my drawers from him are horizontal, and only about 1/4" thick, but then I requested that to accommodate the dividers I wanted:

Yea that is very true...those trays will fit fairly close to the dimensions of my 16 bottle, so until my next wineador I think I'll go with these. Glad to hear they are a solid product and ship quickly. Wait time was my main concern. Thanks!
