Well, since we're in a bit of a lull right now awaiting more n00bs, let me take a quick moment to thank Dave (Grrrr) as well as UtahRootBeer, JavaJunkie, Andy, Hoshy, Deadman, and TheDismalTrade for being sponsors of this. As you can tell, I've been hit hard by the pipe bug and it would never have happened without this thread. Actually, it wouldn't have happened without the brothers here being so generous with time and resources.

So guys, thanks - it's been appreciated! (and, damn you, Dave!)
It's fun to get noobs started into good cigars or pipes. Besides, some of us have a 'buy first/figure out where to put it later' attitude. It helps me keep my cellar and humidor organized. Like today... I found a few extra bags of some Esoterica blends. If anyone wants them, give me a shout. They all got a few years on them.

This sounds more like a threat than a thanks. And also its not good to name everyone, it gives a list of whos responsible if your wife wants to know whos fault it is.

LOL

Actually, it gives her a list of who to thank for being able to smell pipe tobacco instead of cigars all the time.

My wife is quite the opposite, she loves the smell of cigar smoke more than pipe smoke. Cigars remind her of her father, a great man who passed away about a year ago, while pipes remind her of "hipsters and old men".

One of my best friends just returned from a trip to Ireland, during which he purchased a gorgeous Peterson. We were all sitting around smoking cigars, and he packed it and lit it up, and passed it around for everybody to try. I hate to say it, but I was amazed. I was trying really hard not to fall down this slippery slope, but now I really need to get into this action. So please, sign me up!

It's amazing how specific aromas can trigger our memories, with those memories even influencing which smells we like and dislike.
