I love me some Fuente. Yep, admitted Fuente whore right here. But WTF does a company that makes such great smokes have to put so much damn glue on the bands?! Wether it's an Opus LE or a daily budget smoke like the SG Double Chats I like with my coffee, lately I can't get through one without pulling off a chunk of wrapper. ARRRRGH!!! You make great sticks Carlos, why do you have to slather it on with a paint roller?!?!?! Phew. That felt good

Ok, rant over, we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

I hear you
I have damaged wrappers before on Fuentes and other brands by trying to get bands pried loose....Doesn't make sense!

Well Lipher has been known to smoke through the Fuente bands rather than risk damaging the cigar. Not sure what that does for the chemical makeup of the smoke, but he's still alive....

LP's, Tats, most Cubans, some Illusiones,....there's probably some secret cigar makers rule: cost and scarcity will be directly proportional to band removal difficulty

i haven't had many issues with the bands (and keeping a slighty lower RH helps, what are you running?). what i DO see all the time on fuente especially is wrappers that look like a toddler handled them after an arts and crafts project using elmer's white glue. seriously, sometimes i can even make out the fingerprints! o)

I hear you. I've never been an opus fan until the angel's share and now... well... we won't talk about that. Suffice to say I might now be a fan. However, when you pay that much and you can see the glue glistening all over the upper third of the cigar, there might be a problem. Especially when one has to remove said bands to enjoy half the smoke.

I'm storing at 65.

I too have seen the smudges fingerprints... Like every Monday is take your kid to work day down at the Fuente factory.

Messy or not, they do taste damn good and I'm still smokin' em. Just had to whine a bit ;)

Light them up....the more you smoke the cigar the hotter it will be as you near the band and the heat will loosen it up and you can peel it off pretty easy. If you can't wait get a small blade and lift the band with the cutter and cut through the band that way....either way it will do the deed so relax and enjoy the cigars.

This is the answer. Patience and heat
