Does the BOTL discount code work in the retail store as well ? May have the opportunity to visit this weekend (will be within 90 min so close enough, right?) and this could be the prime selling point to the missus !

And I'll echo everything above. Great customer service and shipping and the Monster and Auctioneer throw out some great savings if you are patient and smoke the sticks they usually list, which is not everything they carry.
Famous is always my first choice.

Maybe I should have tried to be less clever and more specific so I'll try again.
JR has several brands I smoke A LOT which Famous doesn't even carry.
Likewise only CI has those bundles of Nicaraguan 90+ rated and Nicaraguan Boutique seconds which get a lot of good press here (and I also like a lot)
15% off a cigar they don't carry or one I don't want means very little.
You mentioned less expensive smokes: OK, please name me some Famous bundles which in your experience are as good as, if not better than, the CI Nics Bundles, and/or the JR Limited Edition Cuban Alternatives, more or less at the same price point...~ $ 2 - 2.50 price point.
That's what I should have asked!
Personally with about 16months rest the Famous Nic 5000's are amazing, just a shame you have to wait that long, but usually when you start smoking them it's time to buy another bundle. :applause:

I have never tried, as a locker holder I get an in-store discount. But I know others that have used it in the past. If you go, ask for Shadi or Sean. They will take care of you.

I don't generally smoke bundled cigars, so I will leave the suggestions up to others, although I know that the Nicaraguan bundle 000s series sells well.

For the record, your comments are along the line of complaining that target doesn't carry the "great value" lines that Walmart has. JR, CI and famous have house brands and bundles exclusive to them.
For what record??? You seem to have misread me: my question, not complaint, is simply: this is what I smoke from JR and CI. Those familiar with Famous: what smokes are comparable in quality and price to bundles like the JR Limited Selection Cuban Alternatives and/or CI's Nic 90+ Rated and/or Nic Boutique 2nds???
There may be many, few, or none; I don't know. Someone here may well have my answer. Chime in if you do.
The title of this thread you started is "SO WHAT IS FAMOUS SMOKE SHOP MOST "FAMOUS" FOR??"....maybe as a new member of this forum, if you took a different approach at asking a question about a site sponsor and a company that has taken care of many BOTL's here, you would have gotten a warmer reception. Something along the lines of "Can anyone recommend a good bundled cigar from Famous", would have gotten you a different response.

People are too sensitive. What is "Famous" famous for? did they pick the sweet 16 correctly one year? Do they have the biggest cigar? Don't think his question was out of line. Most replies only mention that they sponser this site, and they offer a discount. Pretty sure "Famous" got their name before botl.org

Name has been the same since David and Rose Zaretsky incorporated Famous Smoke Shop in New York City in October 1939.

Ironically, Famous Deli was across the street, but no relation to the Zaretskys.

Ok, I didn't want to say anything but this has gone too far. Now, guys, this is a secret that only the most privileged people know, so don't tell anyone I told you this because I will just deny it.

Famous isn't famous for cigars, oh no. Famous is most famous because in the basement they have a midget with three tits and eleven toes who can smoke the biggest cigar, a Cromagnon Femur to be exact, while drinking a gallon of buttermilk and juggling two chainsaws and one axe. Now, the most interesting part is how she smokes the cigar. See what she does is she shoves it it her........You know I shouldn't even be telling you this.

Anyways, they sell cigars and they have a website.

Well, there ya have it. :grinFU:

Because in 1939 "Famous" was a great name to use.

And still is today.

I am afraid your question as posed is unanswerable. I felt your intro was an attempt to put down a sponsor and a shop that I many other like a lot. I stated above why I left JR and I still shop a little at CI.
I don't like the CI Nic bundles at all. Maybe long ago but any cigar at Famous would be better. I would say any cigar is better than the JR Alternatives. I found them to be simply horrible. How can I compare a cigar that I find unsmokeable to anything else? Let try something else..

Famous Cigars you should try.
Alec Bradley Sungrown. Get them on Monster and you are looking at $2.50. Get the by the box still under $3. Great sun grown every day cigar.
Oliva Inferno - $2.80 a stick on Monster. I really like this cigar. I have been handing them out to friends who also like the cigar. A lot
Flor de Los Antillas - Yes. $4.54 a stick ($6.20 at CI)
Nub Cain Daytona - $3.89 a stick ($7.60 at CI)

That is what makes Famous , famous!!

Alright... Who told you about the midget?

Come to think of it... Who told you about the basement?
