Anyone came up with a good plan for organizing their humi? Here is what I am having an issue with: I buy give packs and I would like to keep those cigars together In my treasure dome Humi so I can keep track of when I am low. My sticks get pretty mixed up. Does anyone put their multiples (2-4) in a ziplock bag together? Does anyone have an opinion or another system?

Mine just float around and mingle in my desktop. I like to search around and sometimes you get surprised at what you find in an unorganized humi.

Yeah, my humi is not at all organized. Well, not entirely true
  • All my Fuente sticks are in one particular tray but there are others in there with them.
  • I *think* my Tatauje sticks are all in one tray but, again, with more in with them.
  • I've tried to keep my "better" sticks near the top of coolador but with not much success.
  • I have a tray dedicated to (barely stomachable) yard-gars and crap so I can avoid them.
So, now I just reach in and randomly grab one when I want to go on the back patio or randomly grab three or four when heading to meet people. If I don't like what I grabbed on the first attempt, I'll put it/them back and try again.

I have a Lancero drawer, a Fuente/Padron drawer, a CC shelf, and an everything else drawer. The everything else drawer is mixed and I agree, it's fun to "discover" sticks there!

Have a few new ones to put in there after 2 trips to Nat Sherman ;)

I have a humidor and a 70qt coolerdor. The humi is much more organized. Bottom tray is Cubans and Opus. Top tray is Anejos (46 and Sharks).
Cooler is full of boxes, some full and some a mixed bag. I really don't like the disorganization, but they are in pretty good order. I have 1 large box that I keep everyday type smokes on the top left for easy access. I am considering ordering some cheap stackable trays for ease of searching.

Once I get my office finished and I move the coolador in there, I'll go through it all and reorganize it all. At one point several months ago, not only did I have it all organized, but I had every single cigar entered into my Cigar Boss app, rated, and deleted upon smoking it. Those were the good old days.

But, yeah, forgetting that I had something and grabbing it is a pretty fun thing to have happen.

For me the boxes stay as they are. For singles I keep the Fuentes together, the tats too. For the others, I organize by wrapper. Don't want the light side mixing with the dark side. Like Star Wars. If you worry too much more, the OCD will kick in.

I gave up years ago, they're kinda organize like mostly this or mostly that but definitely some random stuff in every drawer, kind of makes it fun to go digging sometimes.

I keep one box with unbanned sticks and singles as kinda a suprise to find out what I am smoking. They are labeled with random numbers. I fin I enjoy them a little more this way haha. And then another box all multiples grouped together as a box for friends and bombs and to seem like I do keep them organized haha. But really you just have to organize them like you want to. It is your humidor and everybody likes a different level of organization.

CCs have their own humi. Tats have 2 drawers as do lanceros. It gets tricky when I need to put a Tat lance somewhere. Also a drawer for nice Fuente stuff. Then a 'good' drawer that mixes in nice Illusiones, BOTL sticks, Unico etc. A drawer for all the other stuff I'm not real fond of. I find purging this drawer has become less and less. And a wineador for boxes and bundles. That's the one I hope to find a surprise in someday.

Oh, and everything points west. Lol

That's about how mine is. I go through every once in a while abs reorganize, but it doesn't last long.

Depends on how much variety you have. One can only do so much if you have so much stuff. I stored mine in empty boxes. But then again, I have a lot of that too. So I learned to let go of control and just ride with it. Besides, it is fun to dig around for stuff. And I keep a spreadsheet of my inventory (force of habit). So I still know what I have even though I don't know where it is exactly.

I have one wineador for singles and one wineador for boxes. In the singles one I try to keep some sort of order. Best stuff on top 2 shelves, everyday stuff on next 3 shelves, bottom shelf just random stuff. Every 3 months I go through to take a mental count and just for fun. As mentioned above, I have to be careful not to let the OCD kick in.

I'm very OCD and re-organize on a weekly basis. I generally stick to the rule of keeping all of each brand that I have multiples of together. Then a space for misc. singles.

When I had a humidor, it was a lot tougher to maintain any kind of order. I kinda knew where everything was because my stash was smaller. I was always pretty careful in the handling of things, so that made it easier.

When I moved to a wineador, I pretty much dedicated drawers to a couple brands... LP in one, Tats and My Fathers in another, etc. I had one drawer for random boutique brands and one for big brands. That kinda thing. The tough part was overflow... if you had a small drawer filled with one catagory, and the drawer above and below filled with another, overflow was a pain in the butt!

Now that I've sold most of my stash, the problem is the sticks rolling around every time I pull a drawer out. I would consolidate them to fewer drawers, but a)I don't want to take the time and energy to move what I have left from drawer to drawer, and b) I'm still holding out hope I'll be able to rebuild the stash at some point and don't want to move them twice!
