I am thinking of buying the wineador below for my birthday coming up, but wanted the brothers' opinion before I make the purchase. I only need storage for 200-300 cigars as usually I don't have more than 150, but I wanted to be able to expand on that number. I am naturally concerned about the humidification of my humidor, and would prefer to have something more reliable. I am trying to spend less than $300 as I am thinking of selling my humidor for around that same price, so I can break even on the deal. So, if you have this particular wineador, or know something about the manufacturer or seller please let me know:

that looks like it started life as a 12 bottle cooler.. I think you would be extremely hard pressed to get 300 sticks in there unless you smoke nothing larger than petit coronas.. You might even be full at the 150 stick mark (look at the pics.. they only have 4 boxes in there plus a drawer.. and it looks pretty full.. not a whole lot of space left)..

Looks like a great deal price wise.. to have a ready to go wineador delivered to your door for less than $275...

But if you sell your humidor.. I dont know if you are actually gaining any storage capacity.. all I think you are probably getting is temp control and an improved seal out of the deal..

I have the 2.5 cf newair wineador. And space fills up there really quick, especially with a few boxes. I would at least go up to this one. I just bought it and it's working great.

If it was me I'd go big. May have a little extra room for now but it will fill up faster than you think, and better to have some space then find yourself stuck again in a few months.

I'd personally go bigger.

That being said, it's important to realize that for weaker willed people (like myself) it's easier to increase cigar spending since you know you have more room. I went from a 100 count humidor to a 28 bottle winador, to 2 28 bottle winador and countless 70 quart Colman coolers in a few short years. Then again, I am weak willed. Lol

First choice, you'll never get 300 in it and have room for media or air.

Second choice, definately way to go. With drawers or shelves you will have room for the 300 plus good air space.

So, what you're saying is...

If they build it (a humidor), they will come (the cigars).

Good to know.

I want one that is ready immediately rather than having to buy the trays separately.
Well, you've answered your question :D If you want a pre-built wineador, that second one is the one for you.

Just as a note, if you're going to use it to cool, I would get an ETC and let it override the internal temp controls. You can get one for $20 on eBay, but it'll allow you to set the tempo to 69* instead of a max of 66*, which will make a big difference in how easy it is to regulate rH inside.

It will also keep that setting through a power outage or thrown breaker. The build-in temp controller on all wine coolers I've ever seen will reset to the lowest setting when the power is interrupted, and that'll wreak havok on your rH.
