Yea when I don't retro I feel like I'm missing out like I'm wasting the stick
Yeah, that's what is bugging me. I know how much more I get out of a pipe when I retro and it really bothers me that I can't seem to get comfortable doing it with a cigar. I'm sure I've got something mild in the humi to pull out and work with

Start with less spicy cigars and dint overdo it, start slow and with way up. I struggled at first but now I retro every puff. Flavors galore and it feels great. I crave the feeling and taste of a nice retro, love it!!!
I've just started and I don't retro every puff. Especially not on stronger sticks. Just like plugging your nose and not being able to taste food, I think retro gets nose involved (obviously) which gets taste buds more involved... Im(Noob)o.

Also remember you don't have to blow it all out your nose just a tiny bit at first. That is all you need and work up from there.
Thats pretty much how I've been doing it unless its just THAT good lol. But I try to retrohale at least once every third so I can get a good warm and fuzzy for trying to pin the flavor down. I'm still developing my palette but retrohaling makes it to where I can actually pinpoint flavors.

I blow like half out of my mouth then the rest through my nose. It is pretty much an every puff occurrence for me now.

The cigars I have benefited the most from retrohaling are the My Father Le Bijou and the Flor De Las Antillas. So good.
Exactly, I rarely blow 100% of the smoke out my nose. I do about half and half on every puff.
