Duane,

I do see the possible urgency to get a unit that also regulates temperature; but I would assume that he keeps his house at a comfortable temp, which would mean the relative temp inside any humi would be fine as well. Maybe I am wrong, but just seems like an awful lot 'o cash!

In comparing the two, you really get what you pay for. Superior craftsmanship, better quality wood, a colled unit, better RH control, built to your specs. It's really like comparing apples and oranges

Also, he lives in AZ and keeps his house cool but I do not believe he keeps it under 70.

Randy,

Yes, you have put a lot of thought into this baby, and that's what counts. I do think you have chosen the perfect stogie-minder for several good reasons!

And you are right...The construction on the two I have aren't great, but I was able to fix that with the weather stripping, so performance is not an issue. And since they are in my 'office' in my house, I don't mind that they aren't really matching the nicer furniture in the rest of my home :)

I'd love to read a review when you get that baby up to speed!

Take care,

-Clint

Hey Clint, what are you using for humidity control? I was about to pick one of those BH cabinets up to tide me over until I could get the big guy.

It truly is an awful lot 'o cash, and I can't see myself spending that much personally...but if he's willing and able to do so, I say more power to him!

:togetherl

And btw I live in Texas, and we get thirty or so 100+ degree days in the summer. It is impossible to keep the house anywhere near 70 degrees. Well, not without having a $1000-per-month electric bill.

I'd rather try to keep a small box cool rather than my entire house.

Randy, you've obviously thought about this for quite awhile. Obviously not my money, but I'd say go for it. You certainly deserve it.

Same issue with heat down here in FL. Combine that and the wife's cold-blooded-ness and this house stays at 76-77 during the Summer. Not a nice temp for stogies.

Not to familiar with Avallo.

I can speak for my Aristocrat M+ though. I have never been happier. Its a work of art. Mine isnt cooled as I realy do not need that option.

Not saying one is better than the other but check them out before making a big purchase.

I have an Avallo 1200.....all I can say Randy is I have not had one single problem with it and I am totally happy with it. I think the size is more than adequate.
Mike, do you think I'd be fine with the 1200? I don't want to go too small and then be sorry. I have the wine cooler full now!

Compare the inside dimensions of the wine cooler to the new cabinet. If they are similar, I would go to the next size. Now if you plan to continue using the wine cooler, you can get away with the combination of the two.

Randy,

I have a BC112G from Haier and as best I can tell you want the one you are looking at. The 1200 just wouldn't be much, if any, bigger.

Dimensions of the 30 bottle I have:
Overall Width 19.94 in.
Overall Depth 21.69 in.
Overall Height 38.63 in.

Dimensions of the 1200:
Measures 22" wide x 25" deep x 28.75" tall

Dimensions for the cooled 2000:
Measures: 22" wide x 25" deep x 48" tall

Overall, if you have the same or similiar cooler, the 1200 isn't going to be a step up.

That's what I thought, just wondered if Mike knew something I didn't...I am leaning to the larger of the two, always room to grow!
