I think I'm with the consensus here. I smoke just about everything that I get as a bomb, in the case that I have multiples, they get added into the stack (as I have everything sorted by cigar). If someone sends me "X" cigar and I already have some, they just get added to the pile. When its time to send something out, I try to send out what I already had, not what was bombed to me.

Definitely don't sell cigars someone bombed you with, its just bad taste. Totally agree with CFW or sending them to another brother in need of a pick me up- that's what it's about, sharing what you have so that others can enjoy with you.

CJ raises another very valid point...

When talking something very HTF or uber premium, its likely very obvious to the original bomber if the recipient is re-bombing those sticks... For instance, when COsmokes hit me with the 1983 CC several months back.. there is only one of those in my humidor.. and its unique enough that I absolutely remember where it came from, who sent it to me, etc..

But.. God only knows how many JdN Antano's, Fausto's, and Cromag Mode 5's I've been bombed in the past 12 months.. Its no secret I have a thing for strong NC's.. so they get sent somewhat regularly...

I have also bought 2x boxes of Fausto, several 5'vers of Mode 5, and a box of JdN's in the past 12 months...

I can look in my cabinet right now and see that I'm sitting on about a dozen Mode 5's.. at least 20 Fausto.. and probably a dozen JdN....

I dont have a clue which of those sticks I purchased.. which ones were sent from someone else.. etc..

So.. if I bomb someone a Fausto... is one of the bombers that sent me one earlier this year really going to be offended?

This even applies to some HTF's... it doesnt take much searching here to find out that Im sitting on a bigger stash of Mule Kicks than the entire home office staff at Crowned Heads..

Well over half of those sticks were gifted to me in one way or another.. I absolutely love them.. and most everyone here that I interact with knows this.. so, when someone has some.. I typically end up getting bombed with them..

I also fairly regularly bomb these out (not knowing if the stick I am sending is one I procured on my own.. or one that someone sent me...)...

To this day I get asked at least once every couple of weeks in a PM by someone if I know where to get a MK.. or if I saw a box being listed on OLH and did I think it was being sold at a fair price.. etc..etc... I used to get MK PM's, emails, and text messages weekly...

So.. if I choose to share the wealth.. and give someone one of the 30 MK's Im sitting on right now... even if that is a stick that someone else gave me previously.. is someone really getting offended by that?

I'm guessing I've smoked 20+ of those things at this point.. there were only 5,000 of them made.. that means between what I have smoked, and what I currently have, I took 1 out of every 100 that will ever exist.. one guy.. owned 1 out of every hundred..

Should I just hoard them all for myself.. leaving all of you to never get a chance?

Or should I do for others what was already done for me? and share the share?

The only time I would re-gift is if someone slaps me around with something very special and I have a friend that is deserving, I've been lucky in MAWs / PIFs and purchasing blind samplers, I also have herf friends that every single week they are giving me some other amazing stick, so if I get something say an 80s 898 and I have a good friend that is always hooking me up I will sometimes pass along that stick, while it's better than anything I have (for the most part), I want to do something special for that friend, of course I will always tell them where I got it and give credit for the stick where due.

Regular sticks though I will always keep, the other option is when I go to smoke one of those sticks I will PPP it with the herf crew and share it with them that way.

I think I am like most brothers here in that I never regift a stick that is gifted to me, but once you get it you are free to do whatever you want with it. I would rather not see it sold, but hey if you have to then by all means go ahead.

What if you give a stick to someone in person and then you see that they've sent it to another person in a bomb?

Slap? Knee-to-groin? Small claims court?
Just be careful with the assumption. They may have that same stick at home that they sent in the bomb.

Some interesting points I had not considered until reading this thread. I would personally never give a stick away that was given, unless they were in my presence and I had multiples.
That being said, I agree with the sentiment that a gift given is now the receivers property and would not be offended if someone gave away something I gave them.

I try not to regift, but it happens. Either I have multiples both received and purchased, or I have multiples received and likely won't smoke em.

If someone gives me something special, I will smoke it myself every time. If its regular production and Im not a fan, I may pay it forward. If its LE/HTF and I know I don't care for em, I'll hang on to it for a face to face handoff to someone that will appreciate it.

The only time I would take offense to someone repurposing a gifted smoke is if they turn around and list it for sale or use as fodder for an ISO. Paying it forward or bombing it out is ok in my book.

I still try to avoid it though.

Indeed, would be a tad uncomfortable to have a recipient post up a image of a bunch of sticks another brother just sent to you. Having a wide variety of sticks in your inventory, one will surely get something they already have. But like others said, when Im in same situation I give away the ones I bought and burn the ones gifted to me,
i agree there is something special about the one that was gifted to you!
