Funny thread here. I remember the days when I had to have...( or thought I needed to have ) the latest and greatest new cars. I've since understood that not having to have a car payment is the best thing and I have two cars...2000 SUV Trooper with 75K miles...and a BMW 328I with 135,000 miles and both look brand new. Since retirement we barely put on 5,000 miles on both cars so when we do travel by car we rent a really nice car and put the miles on the rental. Here in Atlanta we rent from SIXT and can get great deals on either a MB for $200 a week or a Cadillac for $10 more so it pays to rent something for a week or two instead of buying it and we get the best of both worlds. If you live in your car then I can see buying something really nice but if you just want transportation then get something reliable and save the money for more important things.

Isn't it funny how that tends to happen? I literally drove my Passat(sedan) for a week and it became her "mommobile" while I'm driving the Honda Pilot(SUV)..... Ask me how that makes sense?
That same thing happened to me. We had Kennedy and she commandeered the the Grand Cherokee. She left me with the Scion. I only have two more payments on that thing. Gonna ride it till the wheels fall off.

Yeah the other day she was telling me she's keeping the pilot when I get back. We'll see how long that lasts.

I like it!
Hondas run forever...I had a Prelude that I drove for over 150k miles, and replaced most of the stuff myself (fuel pump, water pump, etc...)

Nice, my 99 expedition a.k.a the war wagon, has 238k miles little heat, no A.C. But she will get through all the snow MN throws at her. Plus other than oil changes and brakes, no repairs have been required!!!

I kind of feel bad, but my "beater" is a 2000 Buick century. 126k miles and engine and drive train are in great condition but rusty as fik! Only paid 1700 though and both my vehicles are paid off.

Dude! What a disappointment! I mean, ipod deck is awesome, but I kinda miss my cassette player. My Mazda had one. I used to listen to an old east coast rap mixtape I made when I was 14 in it all the time.

One of my best friends drove an old Buick LeSabre coupe for like eight years, just got rid of it. Got it with under 80k miles from his grandma who bought it brand new in the late 80's. Rust all over the wheel wells, but ran and drove great!

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram with a 6 cylinder, 5 speed manual transmission, manual locks and windows, it has AC in the winter and heater in the summer. It has 130k miles in it. Fully paid off. My wife won't ride in that truck because it smells like cigars, but my boys prefer riding in "Daddy's rumbly truck" because they get to sit in the front seat.
I was lucky enough to get to ride in the front seat a month or so back. Don't forget to mention that this truck plays nothing but classic metal! Thx again for the ride bruh.
