hey ya'll,
i picked up a dossier a couple months ago and i have around fifty cigar rings in it, just wondering if anyone else uses one. why you do or dont and what you guys think.

im a fan of it, it helps me keep track of what i like and since i am trying a lot of different sticks it helps to keep track of those i want to buy a few more or a box and also this that i hate and dont ever want to try again.

Keeping a journal? it seems like a good way to keep track, i usually save the bands of the cigars i enjoy, and they end up on my band board (i glue them on canvas). I feel like as long as you remember what you didn't like and what you liked your in the clear. As for keeping in depth notes i have a feeling @Cigar Jedi would be the man to go to for info on that.

I currently use social humidor for android, but typing on my phones is less fun and less practical than handwriting. I am meaning to start a journal at some point.

I'm not really in depth with it. I just try to kind of get the main points down so later in life I can refer back to it to remind me how a smoke was.

I snapped a picture of one of the pages of mine.

just curious if anyone else kept one

I would love an electronic version of this where you could snap a pic of the band and then put in notes.

They have a few on the app stores. The main reason I don't do that is I'm not a big tech guy. I like the feel of a book. Websites crash phones get replaced or broken. This has that good feel to it lol and it holds in vicinity of 500 rings so it will take me a while to fill up

pretty much the same thing, i like it. i use it to show newbies some cigars and let them see what the rings look like that i like so they have a better idea what to look for.

bookmarked and saved. thank you brother! so how do you like keeping the Dossier? does it help you identify trends or preferences or anything like that?
More than anything it's helpful in keeping track of how a stick changes over time. It's cool to go back and see how something tasted 3 months, 6 months, or a year ago from the same box. Some of the folks that I'm helping get into cigars are using them to track the flavors and profiles so they have a better idea of what they like.
