I would like the convenience of putting them in the phone. I smoke on my way to and from work. I do have a dossier and love it. So fun to look back at early notes on cigars.

I too keep a journal, but mine is mostly for inventory purposes. I bought a blank journal at Staples and make an entry for every purchase. Pretty standard stuff: date, manufacturer vitola, size, origin, retailer, quantity. I try to log everything I can find on the wrapper, binder, and filler in an attempt to clarify for myself what I like and to become more familiar with some of the more exotic blends. I find that this helps me to decide what I'm going to smoke today, much like perusing a restaurant menu. Also, I often see some cigar I've forgotten about and go, "Oh, yeah I should try that." I don't really keep any notes on the smokes. One, I don't yet trust my noob palate. Secondly, I just want to enjoy it not quantify it. I really enjoy reading others reviews to compare my experience to theirs, but when I think about charting it myself, I always think of that scene from "Dead Poets Society".

Just start by jotting down general flavors you recognize. Your palate will improve over time, plus you'll start noticing trends in what you like ;)

I use one also. I like to reference it prior to a trip to my local B&M and to expand my horizon so to speak on the enjoyment of smoking good cigars.

I think I might get $1 more from the direct link, but it might be the same after the discount code. Use whichever on works best for you! I appreciate the support :)
