Spring strong sweet tall green grass grow...
I know this was a couple of days ago but are they better? Or at least getting better? Both my wife and I got hit wit some bug on Wednesday (she started Tuesday) and we've both developed pretty decent cases of upper respiratory infections. What makes it suck all the more is that I've been home since Wednesday, it's been glorious smoking weather outside (especially for January) but I can't imagine how awful the experience would be if I tried to light something up. By Tuesday the sore throat should pretty much be gone, along with the sunny and warm weather.
Thanks Rob. She's back to normal, but I missed a day of work and packing. Stress levels are rising, it's gonna be a LONG night. We close on the new place tomorrow morning @ 11:00 and have to be out of here by Friday.
So glad she's back in the game!!!

Better days are right around the corner, for you and me both!

Very busy but sociable weekend. Friday night was dinner with friends and I had a bowl of Erinmore Flake. Saturday was a kids birthday party then socializing with friends after the party was over. The men went out to the garage and I had a cigar (Flor de las Antilles) and a bowl of Night Train. This morning it was PA in a cob.

Smoking some Moontrance in a Meerschaum. I wanted to give this the best flavor pipe.

First of all I have to say the smell is a pungent fruity tin note. Packing this tobacco in most pipes is very easy. This tobacco lights easy with little to no bite. Most top flavors is bourbon with some light flavors of fruit on the finish. The flavors on the retro has some nice natural flavors with a hint of vanilla. To my wife this has a nice room note. This smoked well from first light to the bottom with loads of smoke clouds. I do tend to smoke a little fast and does tend to heat the pipe. Not bad enough that I couldn't hold the pipe. I like smoking this tobacco but wouldn't use in place of my all time favorite Auromatic but isn't really in the same class of tobacco either. For the price of a tin I have no problem having this in my daily rotation. Smokes well in every pipe I have smoked out in. Towards the end of the bowl the retro changes to almost cigar type flavors. May have to get a CAO Moontrance cigar and see if there is any connection.

I had one estate whose stinger I couldn't pull out, so I took a small hobby saw and cut it off. The draw is a bit restricted because of the narrow opening through the piece of the stinger that's left.
