Yeah... that certainly SEEMS to be a reband. But a sherpa wrapper on a candella?!?! That's right up there with a $30 Rolex in some guys overcoat.

Probably figure nothing but noobs buy the brown bag sampler and wouldn't know any better. In this case...they were right lol. Thank goodness for you guys.

This. I've smoked some (4) of the others and they were all pretty friggin bad.
At least I got a few smokable sticks Out of the bunch. The rest get passed out at my next get together.

:)First pic are the suspected rockets. Even though they are all new to me, I've done enough lurking to know Ive got some quality sticks in the other shots. The Rosalones I haven't heard much about yet though.
I like the Rosalones quite a bit. Not the usual JDN powerhouse sticks, but tasty nonetheless. They have just a touch of sweetness, like a raisin or a similar dried fruit.

Nice! I actually brought one to keep me company on my drive home. It hasn't had any rest time, so I won't pass judgment yet. Just wanted to get a baseline. RH was at 72 in a ziplock alone. I can work with that.

Maybe Gurkha sent them a bad patch and they're piecing them out because they can't really sell them. I would hope that is the issue. I wouldn't want to think CI is resorting to super shady stuff with all the volume they move.

That is possible. I'm not upset about it at all. It was a random (grab bag) 10 pack . I didn't expect much in quality and I had no idea what any of them were until I posted this thread. I won a few other bids, in the same order, and got exactly what I expected.

Completely accurate. I love getting oddball stuff. It was worth the 75 cents just to hear our ruminations! We normally charge higher rates. I expect a review of that green meanie.

It would be my first review, but I'll give it a try. I'll try to find time after work tomorrow night.

Too much hype to stop now. As a candell, I suggest using terms like "warm hay", "earthy", "light bodied". Tell us the finer details of the dry heaves upon initial draw. Mention the burning in your nostrils. You may also try "forcing myself to continue", or "praying it ends soon". Note the subtle flavor of fresh cow manure. Comment on the freshly mown grass flavor of the final third.

Or you might (snicker) enjoy it.

Son, I've been smokin for decades and ain't never heard of any of the brands in the first pic. That being said, sometimes you want an Opus, sometimes a dollar Dominican. The fun is discovering them secret gems yourself. I'm always ont eh hunt for 1 or 2 buck gems. So yeah, smoke em and let us know.

Lol. I couldn't agree more. Don't want to mow the lawn with an opus in your mouth.

Mowing, shoveling, cleaning gutters, sex with the ol' lady...Re-read yr first post. the unknowns are for cigar noob friends, huh? Well then I'd put the Opus and Padron bands on em. They won't know the diff and you look like the most generous guy in the world.

The sad part is that those sticks would likely retail near 6$ a piece in b&m here.

Or... more precisely, the funny part.
If I pay 6$ for a cigar, it's going to the nub no matter what it taste like.

Until someone breaks out their iphone and asks, "Why is my opus green?" Lol

LOL

well, most cigars retail 15$+ here.
The best example is the "five box and a comfortable chair" brickhouse at 15.50$
but there are extremes like the Cohiba Behike at 84$ and the Fuente Fuente Opus X at 82$

Most "normal" smokes are nearing 20$, but we don't have most "good" ones. No Crowned Head, no Drew Estate, no Tatuaje...
We have Don Tomas in the 8-14$ range. Their maduro is actually not bad at all.

So, yeah, when I pay "only" 6$ for a cigar and it sucks. too bad.

i buy cheap sticks to give to friends who don't really smoke/can't appreciate a good cigar.. then i tell them it's aged a year or whatever and they say it's good and smooth lol
I do the same thing. It's funny how you tell someone it's been aged for XX number of years and that's it a good cigar and they believe you and then actually enjoy the cigar itself.

Oh my, quite an expensive hobby up there. I'll make sure not to whine about cigar prices in your presence.

The power of suggestion lol
