Hello BOTLs,
My name is Layne, and although I signed up a while ago, I didn't really contribute much aside from a brief introduction (which, if I recall, I posted in the wrong forum...so, I didn't start off on a good foot then.) I lurked off and on, but aside from that, I didn't spend much time here. It seems a lot of BOTLs that I know from elsewhere are here, so I figured I'd try again, with better intentions of making more contributions this time.
I'm from California, between the East Bay and the Central Valley. I got into cigars about a year and a half ago when my now-fiancée dragged me to Bed, Bath, & Beyond. I spied a 25 ct. humidor, and convinced her to "let" me buy it. I know have three desktops and a wineador, totaling roughly 550 cigars.
The first cigar I fell in love with is the AF Short Story. I fancy myself as a bit of a writer, so a cigar named after one of my favorite authors, and one of my favorite story formats was a no-brainer. I still love the heck out of that stick. In fact, I find it hard to find fault in nearly any of Fuente's sticks. I am also a huge fan of Illusione. My favorite budget sticks are 5 Vegas Series A and Sosa Vintage. On the upper end, I like to treat myself with Opus Xs and Padrons. Tatuajes, LFDs, Drew Estate, My Father and Cain also seem to have precedence in my stash. However, I am really getting into boutique blends and house rolls I can't get anywhere but at various B&Ms; I find it cool to smoke something not everyone can get, and most of the time they are actually quite good.
On a personal note, I am a sales rep for a roofing manufacturer, am engaged with a wedding set for this August, have two dogs and a snake, and like to write, read, watch movies and TV, and drink whisk(e)y.
I look forward to catching up with those I know, and meeting new acquaintances. Thanks for having me (...if you will).
