I had some Kirk and Sweeney a couple months ago that I thought was pretty good. Usually I just drink cheap ass Ron Rico in coke.

One of our favorites is 12y Zaya Rum. Neat out of the freezer. Great stuff!Runs about $30 here, so not too bad. We'd had a bottle sent to us and loved it so asked our State store to bring some in as they did not stock it. Now it's their best selling top shelf rum.

Is this zacapa so etching that is carried at most package stores, don't think I've ever seen it. All I know is I told an excoworker I enjoyed rum and he suggested Appleton estate.......man that stuff was diesel fuel. Aaahhhhhhhh....can we get Havana club now?

I'm not a big rum guy, but the three I would recommend are the zacapa 23, zaya 12, and the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva based on what I've heard (haven't had all three myself, but was not disappointed with the ones ive tried)

I have a great cabinet of bourbon and scotch but I would really like to try a great aged rum. What are your recommendations?

A couple of big box stores carry it here. Bevmo and Total Wine and more. I don't know if that helps.

For a beautiful spiced rum, it's hard to beat "The Kraken".

For a very nice dark, complex rum, it hard to beat Barbancourt 8 Year Old. Many rum drinker, including myself, claim that it is even more complex than their older offerings.

Flor de Cana 7 year is pretty good as a sipping rum. I got a 750ml for $25. Very smooth. It's a product of Nicaragua. They also make a 12 year and 18 year. They were a little more than I wanted to spend.

This is the best thing to come out of Haiti, ever

and there will be a bottle of it for you to sample at the E TN HERF :)

15 yr Barbancourt is probably my all time favorite rum... inexpensive.. and INCREDIBLE..

Used to pick up a bottle or two every time I went to Port Au Prince..

Havent been back to Haiti since early 2010 though.. so.. I've been much more careful with my stash lately :D
