What should I pair with my Fentanyl patch and my HYDROmorphone?:wtf: :wtf: So I went in to see my pain control doc, and he hospitalized me to get it under control for the moment, then sent me home with those two meds and a few others..I haven't been this high since my sophmore year of high school, you know, back when the cigars we smoked were wrapped in paper, and the filler came from Mexico :santa: The bitch of it is, Im still hurting..The cold weather is killin me...Froze here (sleeted) in San Antone yesterday..

It sounds like anything would go with those drugs! Hope the pain is under control now!

You know, that is the part that pisses me off the most, I'm drugged outta my mind, I can barely type, and I still hurt...I don't really care about the pain right now, it's there, but very distant...But still there none-theless....I don't get it :hammersma Ah well, I guess I should just relax here on the couch, pop in Dark Side of the Moon on the DVD player, and enjoy :rolling:

Snow in Houston last year for Christmas, sleet around Christmas in San Antone this year...Pretty cool stuff, glad I don't have to drive in it anywhere...I'm sure those pins suck ace in the cold...

That's how opioid painkillers work. They don't completely take away the pain, they just make it bearable. Like you said, distant... and you don't really care about it anymore.

True, they alter your perception of pain. But fentanyl is some serious shit. Avoid sleeping in a heated waterbed or going in the hot tub with that patch on.

I hadn't gotten that warning Gator...What is the deal with that? My dosage is 75mcg patch change every 48 hours, 8mg hydromorphone for breakthrough pain.

Good luck to ya Drew.....we feel for u Bro........
Good God no, please don't feel for me ;-) I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy...Well, maybe on al-Sadr....But he would be the exception...After I wished the Herpes on him...I'm hangin in, still doing alright, given my situation, and there are many guys here that are much worse off than I..I try to spend as much time as possible with the guys in the burn ward, especially now through the holidays...And with the Intrepid Center opening next month, I will be able to volunteer some time there helping the guys with their rehab...

That is very good of you Drew

They like it when I come by the therapy sessions with cigars...The docs all roll their eyes, but the guys like it...I snuck my flask filled with some GREAT 21 y/o scotch (not sure what it was, the flask was a gift from my father and was filled when it came, though I have an open offer to refill it every time I'm at the house) up to the recovery room, had a couple of the 1/2 oz medicine cups, and made more than a few guys smile  Got busted right at the end by the floor nurse, though he laughed about it, and said as long as they weren't drinking after each other (no spreading cooties) and weren't drinking more more than a sip or two, there wasn't any problem..I offered him a real sized drink, but he refused, said he couldn't while workin :innocent:

My pain doc went through my charts and ordered about (in his words) a million dollars worth of tests  I went for blood work on Friday, they took 13 vials worth...On Monday I go in for some ultrasound and other xrays to take a look at the insides, try and finger out what the fark the problem is..
