It is ok... no one is expected to like everything someone makes, in fact I often argue it is a bad thing.
Imo, if you create a cigar that everyone likes you have ultimately made a cigar no one loves.
I think the more important thing is to try to identify blenders and makers whose products line up with you desired taste, aroma and strength desires, but even then it is unrealistic to think you will like everything they create.
Fwiw, this is personally an issue for me.
-IF- I were to return to the cigar biz and begin actively blending and crafting cigars again the expectation of what it should be is so ridiculously high I am almost certain I will fail to clear the hurdle. Everyone expects "a Saka Era" LP for less cost, but this is very unrealistic expectation for any cigar factory, much less a new one to produce, cigars like these take time to develop. Plus given the fact that everyone has their own individual idea of what is a great cigar it is physical impossible to meet said expectation of everyone. All it takes is for a few folks to beat the drum loudly about their disappointment and viola' it is a marginalized product right out of the gate regardless of how great it might be.
This is something I have been pondering a lot about lately...
