Well, following Stradawhovious's build here...
http://www.stogiefriends.com/forum/thread/2159/temperature-controllers/
...I decided that since I was working on a new Wineador build, I just had to do my own!
I promised sdlaird that I would post a build thread, and I just finished wiring it up tonight, so here it is!
I started with the same ETC, an STC-1000, I bought here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/All-Purpose-STC-1000-Digital-Temperature-Control-Controller-with-Sensor-110V-/190808583583?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c6d13ed9f
Then, sdlaird came through big time with a Tatuaje TAA 2012 box (which wasn't empty like it was supposed to be!). I wanted one that had a shorter form factor, and the TAA box fit the bill perfectly!
So here's the build process:
First, got my Tat box, $20 ETC, and a $7 extension cord:
Traced the outline:
Used a Dremel saw to cut the rectangle out:
Fits perfectly!
Got a little carried away drilling holes. First thought I'd out the cords on the outside of the box, then decided closer to the middle was better. The outside is for... ventilation. Yeah, that's it, ventilation!
Box wired up:
Then got all the wires inside connected, and the temp sensor attached:
EDIT: Here's a quick diagram of how to wire it. (credit to Stradawhovious) for sharing it with me!
And there she sits!
A very huge thanks to Stradawhovious, who helped me immensely by telling me how to wire the darn thing, and to sdlaird for hooking me up with the box! As you can see, it's perfect!
