I couldn't pass this up. Lagunitas is a good company. I love hops. All my life I've been called st...Well it just looked like a good beer, and it was.

For a double ipa they sure drink easy. No harsh hop bite.
For the price that one is real hard to beat, especially if you like hops.
Need to grab a few for the 15th.

I've seen this one before, I usually go with R.L. Seale's which is from Barbados too. You have any frame of reference for how this ranks for you among other rums?
In my cabinet, I place it as an affordable alternative to Ron Zacapa Solera 23. I feel it drinks higher than its priced. Hints of marshmallow, vanilla, coconut and toasty caramelized brownsugar. The XO is a little more pricy but tastes more like a burbon. Oakier, dryer with more vanilla and coconut and char. I haven't tried or found the 11 year yet.

This pretty much sums it up "Aged in bourbon casks in Barbados then refined in Cognac Casks at the Cognac Ferrand estate, this rum has the typical style of Barbados rum with fresh wood, toffee, vanilla and oaky notes."

Note, when I mention coconut, vanilla and dryness/tannins are a result of charred American oak from the used burbon barrels.

My first bottle of Ardbeg. They had the new Perpetuum but it was twice as much and this may be the only bottle of Ardbeg I'm able to get for awhile. Where I'm from they don't stock it and it cost nearly double to order anything. But I'm in the Gas Lamp District in San Diego on buisness this week and I've been wanting to try some Ardbeg and I've herd this is one of their best offerings. Hopefully I made a good decision. (I was looking for Super Nova but o well)
A very good scotch need to get me another bottle.
