With a long ass nap, these are excellent. If I were smoking this blindly, I'd have a hard time finding faults. 18 months in the humidor. Cedar and spice, some cocoa and a sweet maduro creamy finish. Even without considering I got 3 boxes shipped under $140, these are playing well above their pay grade. Some are still misses. They're not consistent within the same box. But the one that are on, are definitely on.

Surprised to hear this....almost everything I have ever smoked from AJ I have liked from the Man O War series to the Oval. Great stuff.

MOW used to be on my radar, but now I'll refuse a freebie. The Oval, while well reviewed, is also one I'll turn down. When I first got into cigars, these delivered flavors I'd not noted before. But as I gained experience, they became more and more harsh and offensive. I'd liken it to a bottle of Steel Reserve 211 to a bottle of a barrel aged Russian Imperial Stout. Sure, they both deliver unique flavor, both pack a punch, but go about it in an entirely different fashion.

AJF seems to have this profile I find personally objectionable. A red pepper sinus-singeing smoke with a fast dry finish. Many like this... I do not. I prefer a much lighter to absent pepper on the initial flavor, and a long drawn out sweet creamy finish.

Hey....at the end of the day you should smoke what suits your palate. Some people drink their coffee black, some like a little cream and sugar with it and some need to go the MoccaFrappaLatteChino route. Whatever puts a smile on your face right?
