Welp, no work for me tonight so I wanted to get a smoke in as the weather was pretty kick-ass outside.

I wanted to go with something that I kept knocking around and just never had the chance to try. I knew I might get that call from work so I wanted a throw away... I had smoked one of these Cubanacans before in Robusto and it was pretty average but I don't remember hating it...

Ho-lee-crap! Was this a treat! I had actually dropped it a few times before I set flame to... This was quite orgasmic and I really wish I had not damaged the snot out of it so I could have smoked it a bit farther into the final third...

First third was medium/full body smoke with a coffee, chocolate and black pepper as the predominant flavors. The flavors are finished with a slight sweetness, and an earthy core which is just delicious.
Second third was full bodied smoke (no strength) with more of same earthy core present on the initial light. The shift in flavors are to more of sweet creamy leather, coffee, and nice herbal undertones. The retro is a mild spice and bold black coffee, so good!
Final third was much of the same but the leather has ramped up as has the coffee. There are faint hints of berry flavor there but they're gone pretty quickly. This smoke reminds me (in some was) as the Original El Truinfador Lancero, which is one of my favorites.

This was an EXCELLENT smoke and surprised the hell out me. I have a feeling this cigar had some age, I am not sure how I came into possession of it nor how old it is.

Ok forgive the double post right up front here but i have a weeks worth of smokes here:

Monday and Tuesday yall!

Oh boy was the la mission a treat! sweet and spicy just how I like it. Got that spicy and earthy core with the strong maduro sweetness with the chocolate and coffee on top. not only that, but I swear to you i was getting a s'mores vibe from this stick at a few different times. I've heard people say that they tasted graham cracker before and for the first time I know what they're talking about. that along with the chocolate and a the sweetness of the tobacco really gave me that flavor. Unexpected but fantastic. Will def be getting more of these.

The HG on the other hand...such an interesting cigar. It was delicious, and I would gladly smoke dozens more but I haven't had anything quite like it before. At least to me the whole stick had this really interesting herbal/floral quality to it. it had a bit of spice, and a honey like sweetness but I kept getting flavors of stuff you might find in a garden like basil or rosemary maybe? Honestly it was so different than anything I've smoked before I couldn't quite put my finger on many of the flavors. I'll just have to smoke a few more I guess lol.

post # 2 I guess I could have put these together but I didn't know how long my ramblings would be so this was for organizational purposes lol

Wed. was the Tat reserva thanks to @ChuckMejia! Thanks again buddy, still smoking through your bomb and I haven't barely scratched spenny or Alans destruction. So many sticks guys you're killing me! anyway, aside from a small tunnel about halfway through that required a half inch or so clip the stick was spot on! the one I had at the NC herf was slightly ruined by toothpaste aftertaste but this one was full on flavor. What a spicy retro hale on this one, left my nostrils tingling until my next draw and it fit perfectly with the earthy and slightly sweet flavors that were mingling around. the sweetness ramped up a few inches in and was really pleasant for me, and so much smoke!

and tonight I finally got around to trying one of the La imperiosa's I picked up the other weekend and this stick was all class. perfect burn line long tight ash you name it. It also felt really "substantial", like a meal on it's own. It had that oscuro sweetness that tasted a little fruity but the retrohale has a really mesquite flavor that made the smoke feel really meaty or something like smoking sweet and savory bbq. There weren't many flavor changes for me, but the flavor was so good that you wont see me complaining.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great smoke. All the objective elements are there: perfect draw, smooth burn, and I can blow smoke rings for ten minutes on one draw. But, I have had tastier cigars. I really like it. Spicy, sweet, somewhat earthy. I just expected to be completely blown away by the Cigar of the Year. View attachment 69711
The smaller ring guage are the way to go with those. You don't get the full complexity of flavor from the larger one. I bet if you try the petite corona or even the churchill, but I wouldn't go above a 50. I hope this helps, not that you asked :)
