If you find yourself quickly filling the humidor you thought would be "big enough for this hobby", you have some options. Sure, you can upgrade. Put together a coolidor or go big and buy a one of those beautiful cabinets. You're wife may think your nuts, but you'll figure out how to explain it.

A proven alternative is to follow my three step process:
1. Bomb people - it's super fun to share what you've been given or purchased. However, be careful. You could make yourself a target. In which case this would completely backfire and you're in trouble. You'll have more cigars than you do storage and be back to having to explain to your wife about the new piece of "furniture" you ordered. But that's why the second part of this process is so very important.
2. Smoke more cigars - whether it's more often or more in a day, if you want to keep that tiny humidor empty, you're gone have to get to two fisted smoking, smoking on conference calls, smoking while you take the dog for a walk, smoking while you cut the grass, you get the point.
3. Don't tell anyone of BOTL that you're out of sticks - don't do it. Seriously. DO NOT! If you post it, you may as well as you're local B&M if you can rent storage space in their walk-in.

So there you go my fellow newbies. Some tips on how to keep that small humidor empty while you enjoy the journey. ;);)

Great advice brother!

However, you may be blindsided and nearly killed by storage flying towards you by fellow BOTLs

Very good advice. And if I may add (something that was SOP when this forum started)?

- When you're "new", never, under any circumstances "give" someone your address, and when you bomb someone who may not know it's you sending, choose a different return address (perhaps the recipients)

Your address is the last vestige of a pre-botl normal life, and it's far more fun and satisfying when someone has to "work" for it.

As a newbie I made that mistake. Now some suckers run around knowing my address...not good.

Yeah, about 50% of my packages go out with a different brother's return address.
