I use the air popper as soon as it is cool enough to let me handle it without any problem. I do 4 batches with a cool down in between. I also do it outside on the porch where the temp right now is 40-50 degrees. By the time I have cooled the beans to stop the roasting the popper is ready to go again.

duplicated last nights roast exactly today. To the air popcorn popper guys, how long do you let your poppers rest in between roasts?
I waited about 10-12 minutes, I did feel to feel how hot it was. It seemed cool enough, but maybe I could have allowed it too cool longer. I'm still extremely new at this, so it a learning process for sure.

My popcorn popper is dead already. It's not putting out enough air to agitate the beans and it seems like it's gotten MUCH hotter. I've tried a batch today and had to constantly stir the beans manually otherwise it was charred beans in less than a minute.

Thinking a Behmor 1600+ is getting ordered any minute now.

If you have the money the behmor seem worth it!

As for me I usually move the popper in a circular motion to move the beans so they roast evenly I neve let it just sit

For the first 8 or 10 batches that i did, that's exactly what I'd do. Stir it for a minute or so until they'd start to spin on their own. It just pooped out on me already. Pretty bummed out about it because I've quickly grown to really love fresh roasted coffee and *really* don't want to go back!
