I'm wondering if anyone removes a cigar from the cellophane to inspect it at a B&M. It seems like a bit too much handling to be appropriate. I ask because I just bought a few sicks and I did look at them before purchasing but they were in cellophane. This makes it hard to see everything. One of the sticks had a split at the head that I didn't notice so I had to cut off more than I would have liked. There were also some green spots on a stick that I didn't see. These were just wrapper leaf chlorophyll spots and not mold so it wasn't a big deal but I would have chosen a different stick if I had noticed in the store.

My opinion... Leave the cigar in the cello. It can cause damage to a cigar sometimes just trying to get it back in the cello. A good B&M owner should help you out if you bought what turned out to be a damaged stick.

My B&Ms all place their barcode stickers over the part where the cello opens so removing it would render the barcode unreadable. I take that to mean; you open it, you buy it.

No, dont do that. Cello is clear for a reason.

If you cant see the cigar at all, lets take the Uncle Lee for example, or the old Camacho Liberty that were in taped coffins and wrapped in paper, youre taking a chance there might be some cracks. If the cigar is damaged beyond being smokable take it up with the shop owner. But do not go unraveling pristine packaging.

Now that we're on the subject, what makes that any different from grabbing a sealed box taking off the wrap cutting the stickers and inspecting!
