I just smoked a Montecristo Petite Edmundo and it didn't taste that good, tasted a little bitter. Is this because the cigar wasn't aged enough yet and needs to sit?

I was really surprised because the Montecristo #2 and the Cohiba Robusto I smoked out of the cigars I bought were amazing.....I may just throw it in the humidor and forget about them for a year.

Hard to say without a lot more info. Depends on box code, rh, where you got them and when... so many variables. Could be wet, could need more rest, could be a bum stick... try one again in a month or two and find out!

There are some fresh box codes that smoke great fresh and some that smoke like shit.

Currently the Petit edmundo is my go to.

What is your rh that you're storing them in?

Usually 65 is golden for me, with the 90% humidity I have been having burn issues though....

Some 15s are amazing others aren't, definatly try the dry box seems to make a world of difference when the humidity is high. Also let them rest... They need a while to react to temperature changes.

If they are not smoking well.... wait another 6-8 months and try another... if that one sucks... another 6-8 months.. if that one sucks rinse and repeat. If they all suck, could be a bad box, a bad holding or a other... good luck

Humidity is def too high, just smoked a Cohiba Silo V and it was an impossible draw, I took a meat probe and pushed it through, still wasn't a pleasant draw. I will be picking up some boveda 65% tomorrow for the cubans only......

I don't think were allowed to talk about where you bought them? Right?

Box codes I don't know. Monte was light with medium draw
If I recall correctly, you can speak about it in a PM but not in the open forum. But someone please correct me if I'm wrong so I can update this post accordingly.

But back to the question, from what I've read and others have also posted before me, let them rest a bit. I'm guilty of smoking NC's ROTT (right off the truck) but I do let the rest of the bunch rest. Sometimes a little bit of time and the patience is all you need.

I asked where you got them to find out if they were from a real vendor or somewhere questionable.

was not trying to circumvent the rules..................

probably just a poorly made cigar...................
