I went with Alton Brown's recipe this year. Lancefield's recipe is very good, but Browns is more traditional and only uses the yolks - less chance of serving egg white snot to your guests! Just as boozy, too:

I was drinking last years batch after 1 month and finished it 4 months later. No one got sick because Science works! Anyone who gets sick f-d up and didn't follow the recipe.
