Currently, I am smoking on my commutes to and from home. At home, it's in the heated garage. The weather's been good lately, but I've still used the garage because there is no seating outside right now. In the warmer months, outside for sure.

Never inside the house. Wife is a cig smoker and does not smoke in the house either.
Smoke in the heated garage with door open a foot or two right now due to weather. If weather is nice its in the backyard. I have 1 B&M with a smoking lounge in my area. It closes at 6pm so smoking there is not an option.

Probably 98% outside. Only time I can smoke indoors is when I go to a cigar lounge and to be honest I'm not a very sociable guy and would rather the peace and quiet of my back yard.

Wow cool responses -- MUCH more outside than I suspected so far. We'll see where it goes, but no wonder B&Ms are always complaining it's hard to survive with so many hardcore smokers just hitting the yard instead.

Other than, obviously, the convenience of not having to drive somewhere, and the reduced cost of being able to buy online, what could a B&M owner do to get you to come in more often?
Everything with that, for me, is the price. Same with bars. Why go somewhere and pay 2 to 3 times more for a smoke/drink, when i can do it from the comfort of my porch?

Online sales are just a lot cheaper for us who have families and do everything to save a buck where we can.

Also most of us have families ... it's not easy to leave the family alone for hours several days a week by going to a lounge. By smoking at home we are always readily available in case the wife or kids need anything.

In the winter, its almost 100% inside. In the summer, almost 100% outside. Fall and spring are entirely weather dependent.

100% outside. Two reasons, equal in importance:

Inside, even with good to excellent ventillation, allows smoke to collect.

1) The presence of smoke in the air significantly reduces my enjoyment.
2) Everything stinks for a long time after. House, clothes, pets, me, etc.

That said, on a long road trip in my car, cracking the window just right sucks out most of the smoke, so I'll do that occasionally.

I guess for me, 9 times out of 10, I want to smoke to relax. I'm an introvert, so smoking with other people can be more stressful than relaxing. At the lounge, everyone wants to talk, even if I dont. Couple that with having to spend money, and possibly not getting a decent seat, and lounges just really aren't for me most of the time.

Good point. I'm basically introverted too, and though I do like to socialize at a lounge, I also appreciate the ones where there's a quiet area for those who don't (or those who want to -- gasp -- WORK!).

Lounge isn't really my thing either. Maybe if I had more choices than just one I might think different. My cigar time is quality time with the wife. As a cig smoker the cigars don't bother her. It's an hr of good convo.

Oh man, that's the WORST. When I'm in the quiet corner, I got spreadsheets all over the table and my laptop out, why are you coming over and wanting to have a full-blown "get to know you" conversation? I'm not trying to be rude, but if I wanted to talk, I wouldn't be doing everything in my power to show that I do not want to talk right now.
