Who does the e-file? My buddy usually buys the software and I use it at his house. Therefore, I have always had to do the paper method since he uses the 1 e-file you can use with the CD. This year I went ahead and did it online on the Turbo Tax site and chose the e-file. Was curious who else uses that method? They claim a pretty quick turn around time on direct deposit, eh?

I've e-filed for free the past few years. Even though many places say if you make over a certain amount, you can't free e-file most don't charge anyway.
I never get a refund (I plan it that way), so I always wait till the last minute and e-filing is the best for that.

last year i did free online filing with turbo tax, they sent me the software this year so I just paid the $15 or whatever it is and filed with it. Will have my refund by the end of the month according to the IRS.

It got rejected the first time since I had the EIN wrong for Shenandoah University where my wife teaches a summer course. Just fixed and resubmitted it.

I used the turbo tax cd this year and did the efile for fed but not state...think I paid $14 and recieved it in about 7 days...used to go to HR Block for the quick refund thing but you pay out the butt for that and I wasnt hurting for cash as much this time so I decided to do the turbo tax thing and had no probs....

I filed by mail a month ago and had a fat deposit in my account in less than 2 weeks for federal and a week for state.

The trick is to get it in before Friday and your deposit will be in the following Friday for federal returns.
