Low cost of living. Reasonable housing compared to other warmer climes. Ask Randy about jobs.

Lived in Phoenix in the 90s...for about 3 1/2 years..yes it does get hotter than Hell in the summer months....but about October--April it is GREAT... but dude it does get hot... they shut down the international air port when it reached 122, but that is when you go to the moutains for a get away............ AZ has alot to offer, great getaways... swiim in the winter and snow ski the same day....................

I lived in AZ for three years. I'd go back. IT does get quite hot in summer - but it is mild heat for the rest of the year. Mostly sunny everyday. Sports - camping, hiking, swimming, skiing, shooting, boating, fishing, hunting. Spectator sports - hoops, football and baseball. Low cost high quality housing with all the amenities - smog can be a problem for Phoenix.

Randy 'd be the one to get the details - good, bad and ugly.

Best of luck in your decision

Until I left Sacramento, CA (Sack-of-tomatoes) I only knew 3 seaons...so I experienced snow living in MO, got it again in NJ and here in VA but know about hot weather from FL... but know all about hot, dry weather from CA too.

I like cold weather up to a certain point. I can do without the snow and ice down here. As long as the lows only get into the 30's throughout the winter then I'll be good.

You also gotta think about the landscape, granted I've never been, but seeing no green would get to me.

That is a very good point about the no green. Although the desert has its own asutere beauty - I remember when I moved to San Antonio my kids were like "wow" look at all the trees and green grass. You don't have much vernal variety in the desert

id rather be cold than hot. you can always throw on an extra sweater if it gets chilly.
Hmmm - it looks like a bit more than an extra sweater Y'all are wearing in the pictures posted of blowing and shoveling 5 foot drifts off you're driveways with a windchill of below 30 - I'll take swiming in cool lake havasua or my pool and weaing a hat and sunglasses to that anytime.

Man, I've lived here for over 8 years, and I ain't going nowhere! It's nice 9 months out of the year, but it's hotter than hell for about 3...just like in the winter in other places, you stay inside and run your a/c while it's hot or get used to it and go outside...I'll send you my phone number, call if you want to talk...

I lived there for nearly 5 years. The job market is rather good. With the real estate market on the decline houses will be somewhat cheaper. The tap water is horrible. It does get hot but I got used to it. There seems to be a certain lack of diversity to me but then again I grew up as one of the few White people in my elementary schools. I think I may move back in a few years.

I hate the cold.... it is fine for maybe a week, but I cannot handle freezing all the time...

Would rather be hot.. But at least here I think we do get all 4 seasons pretty well

I think it would be just too hot for me. As some of you said, I really enjoy my seasons and would miss winter, even though it is a bitch sometimes
