You get used to anything. You dont have to shovel the heat. Summer is like winter back east but not wet. Go from a cooled house to a cooled car to a cooled business. You dont slide on the heat. Its wonderful in the spring, winter and fall.

Yeah it gets hot during the summer, yeah it's brown and rocky with not much grass, droughts are a pain and when it rains they are gulley washers and we don't have many storm drains, the air around Phoenix is getting to be LALA land quality....................On the other hand there's Air Conditioning, I haven't mowed a lawn in 20 years, the best sunsets in the country, the mountians are majestic, I can play golf 365 (tee off at 5 AM in the summer), the economy is robustwith low unemployment, low cost of living, I can carry a gun on my hip without a permit and once you get away from Phoenix the air is clean, Snow sking is an hour and half away, year round softball, fishing and hunting. I smoke outside (DCs) year around. The Dbks have already won a world series, the Suns ain't to shabby and the number one reason to live in AZ, the local cable has NFL Game day so you don't have to watch the Cardinals.

I love hot weather and lived in Florida for about a year back in 2003-2004. I loved it. Florida has since, unfortunately, become quite expensive.

It seems to me that Arizona has experienced the same kind of boom. Whenever I look at the Phoenix area it seems pretty expensive. But of course, I live here in the Midwest which is basically dead for real estate. Nice houses can be had for well under 200K.

Are there cheaper areas than Phoenix?

Wow, that is a good housing market
Land, obviously, is plentiful and work is performed primarily by non-union labor read: less expensive housling. Add to that over building by the developers and you have a real bargin in housing. Demographic trends being what they are these houses are generally a good investment. I flipped one for 50,000.00 a couple of years ago

Man, I've lived here for over 8 years, and I ain't going nowhere! It's nice 9 months out of the year, but it's hotter than hell for about 3...just like in the winter in other places, you stay inside and run your a/c while it's hot or get used to it and go outside...I'll send you my phone number, call if you want to talk...
Definately want to talk... VA is nice... but not me and my gf's cup of tea... she also wants to be closer to MO whrere her kids are and I want to be closer to CA where my elderly folks live... we have AZ and NM in mind as we feel they would fit out lifestyle better...

Sorry guys, seasons really don't mean squat to me... freezing my ass and toes off, as I like to go barefoot) sucks as is not being able to enjoy a whole cigar cause of the weather...

To me Yosemite and Sequioa are two of the most beautiful places in the world and the Nevadan desert is #3 so I think I would love the look of AZ.

So AZ I plan to call you on Saturday, let me know if that is a good time and when, I could do it Sunday too if that is better.

Race ya! We will meet up when we get there... actually I am thinking, depends on the sales job or snow job AZ gives me, we may be packing up within 6-12 months.

Since we have been together w have gone to FL, NJ and now VA. FL I mess the fishing, NJ miss the stores (yes I can out shop any female AND proud of it) VA I will miss the cost of living vs the wages.
