Welcome from the frozen tundra of MN! Nothing wrong with the jar to keep a few sticks handy but make sure you get some humidification in the jar. I have become a Boveda fanboy. I suggest subscribing to their YouTube Channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo_OmhOMjI-AzzVEeSfMvng They have some great information and cigar infotainment.
Also, you can get a free subscription to Cigar Aficionado magazine by taking one or two surveys at this site. https://www.rewardsurvey.com/Partner/SaySoOneDollarFifty9 It is legit. Take a survey and get some points. Then you can subscribe to Cigar Aficionado using the points. There are other mags available there too so you may want to do a few surveys and get more points for more mags. A lot of cigar news is happening now and next week with the IPCPR trade show going on in next week. Halfwheel covers that pretty well on their YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqiAcjhqaCAGpy_mpYhEwTw
Make sure you look at the shops that provide discounts to BOTL members. The discounts range between 10% and 17% depending on the site. If you are going to buy, you might as well get a discount. Some restrictions apply.

The majority of my training was off campus at Ft. McClellan, but it was through JSU. That sucks the tornadoes tore the campus up though. I haven't been down that way since I graduated.I graduated in 2007 from the school of business. Finance major. Make you sick riding thru campus right now. That tornado did a number
X2Get over to the Storage thread http://www.botl.org/forums/storage.11/ and take a good look around to see what Brothers are using for this. One recommendation that I can make is don't go wasting your money on 20ct/50ct/100ct/150ct cheap desktop humidors. I have them and I use them - I just don't want to see a new brother go down the same path that I did. Boveda packs would also be your best best on the humidification side as well. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions or whatever... Glad to have you here!
Ahh man I’ve been all over TN with my camper!!! Awesome turkey hunting, smallmouth fishing, & trout fishing up there!!!Welcome from just east of Knoxville.....
