La Historia El Senador by E.P. Carrillo. Another winner for me from EPC. This robusto size maduro was excellent. The Pledge is one of my top favorites and I also very much enjoy the Encore. The La Historia is right up there next to the Pledge for me. Excellent draw with thick creamy smoke. Very smooth with a slight nutiness. Picked up a little more strength in the second half with the slightest pit of pepper. A damn fine cigar. In my book EPC has hit the trifecta with these three sticks.

Liga Privada 9, a good cigar, but it won’t push any of my favorites out for a regular spot in my humidor. Given all the gushing praise I’ve seen posted about this cigar maybe I was expecting too much. It’s a nice looking dark chocolate brown stick with a nice draw and reasonably good burn, although the second half required several touch ups. Smoke was plentiful, but it didn’t feel as thick and creamy as say a La Historia from EPC. It was a pretty smooth smoking experience, but had a touch more earthiness than I prefer. Overall it was a good cigar, but in that price range ($12-$15) there are others I like more.
