Calif is a big drag for us smokers. They have Fun Govenors all over the place.
I remember I was in Yorba Linda in 2002 and I was so desperate to smoke the NC & CC I had that for the first time in my life I went to a strip club with an intention other than seeing some snatch.

I made way to the closest T-Bar and I pulled out my travel humidor and the dancer on the stage stopped dancing and came over to ask me what was in the bag ... see was genuinely curious. When i told her that they were cigars she shrugged and said,
"Nice ,Baby but you can't smoke them in here. It's against the law."

What ??? Who ever heard of a strip club that prohibits smoking ?!?!!?!?
Well, that's the great state of California for you.

Good luck !!!!!

Thanks for the heads up...I won't be visiting any clubs like that with the wife and kids, but I thought I heard somewhere that it is illegal to smoke outside in certain cities in cali....I need to find out!

Only a couple that have really banned smoking outright, Calabasas is one. Many parks have also and those are posted, some beaches, again posted. Best bet it find a nice lounge at a B&M or a resturant with a cigar patio. Ask at any B&M and they will tell you. Cigar smokers stick togather in CA against the tide.

I wouldn't put them in checked bags. I don't know how cold it gets in the baggage hold, but wouldn't want to have my smokes getting too cold down there. If you have to go through customs, re-banding might be an idea. Just be careful with the super-glue!

they put pets in the cargo hold as well as luggage. My guess is it is plenty warm enough in there. Either way, I'm carrying mine with me.

I just flew home from Cali to Canada with 3 boxes in checked bags. No issues with the cigars and the cold in the baggage hold fellas. That being said, I'd probably take them carry on next time around just to be secure knowing that they are close by and not being manhandled by the knuckledraggers down below. :)

How would any agent know if they were fakes or real cc's? A person can buy a legal knockoff of any CC made, just about. I suppose the agent could demand to taste-test one in front of you. Hey, wouldn't that just boil your oil?!!

It can get very cold in the cargo area, it is not temperature controlled.

Pets do not go in the main luggage compartment. They have a small temp controlled cargo area they go into.

As for taking cigars on a plane, I will take 25 to 30 every time i fly and I always carry them on with me, and have never had a problem coming or going on domestic or international.

I am going to Europe in late May and I am taking my 30ct as a carry on, and it will go across and come back full.

Keep in mind, TSA agents do not have any authority when it comes to thing like this. They would have to call in a Customs agent from the international terminal to take them from you.

Has anybody traveled via airplane within the US and had CC? I am going on vacation next month and want to take some with me, but they will probably end up being in checked luggage. I can throw them in my carry on, but was wondering if anybody has had any problems with TSA and checked or carry on luggage with your CC'a?
I actually traveled this morning from California to New Jersey. I am typing this from the hotel. Packed a full box of isoms with me and put them in my checked bag.......BUT.......I had removed all the bands simply because I knew they were going to get checked. I had put them in my airline case along with the weapon I was carrying (and declared). Sure enough, they checked them. Opened up my 24 count Otter Box and checked every layer. I really don't think they cared about the cigars. They were looking for ammo or weapon related stuff. It was nice to not have to worry one way or the other with the bands removed.

I agree with the others though. No big deal with or without bands if it's in your carry-on.......as long as you are not flying internationally. If you are coming in or going out of the U.S., play it safe and remove the bands.

I travel out of the country all the time and have never removed the bands, and also have never had a problem. Having said that, i am not the worrying type.

Yeah, not sure why you should worry about taking the bands off leaving the country. Coming back is a different story as you definitely will be screened by US Customs, but leaving the country you are not.
