I also had Colonel Taylor the same night for the first time. Spectacular.I thought about the same. For the price I was disappointed

That's such a good bottle. For whatever reason, it's probably the hardest of the "hard to find" bourbons to get ahold of around here. The only bottle I've ever had was purchased literally at the BT distillery gift shop.I also had Colonel Taylor the same night for the first time. Spectacular.
It was good but not my liking. A friend was nice enough to give me a pour. Hotter and rougher going down than I expected.
The Willett Pot Still is a beautiful bottle, the whiskey not soi much.I thought about the same. For the price I was disappointed
Thanks for the review, Chayse.View attachment 189362Found North Batch 8 review, for Tom of course @icehog3
first pour of this
rested 10 minutes
neat in a golf ball glass
nose: lots of ethanol, kinda sweet, lots of oak
Taste: first sip was pretty hot, certainly drinks it’s proof for sure. Lots of dark fruit and citrus seems to be playing about 50/50. Starting to lean toward a baked pie. Very oily
Finish: very oaky and long with some fruit proof dies down throughout the sip, ends sweet
