ditto! had a cool 60 gallon that looked like a bamboo hut - stand and all! had a nice assortment of freshwater fish,,, until i introduced the dreaded jack dempsy! ate all the other fish. he would grab my skeleton-on-the-wheel by the base of the tube with his mouth, pull it out of the gravel, and swim around with it! it attacked anything that moved! aggressive shit!! when i finally quit it, my vendor gave me $60 for that fish!

would love to get the reef setup some day!!

this is not the first time that the rouge fish has taken over my tank.. I had to oscars get to 6 inches a few months ago and they would not die, and I could not get them out of the dam tank to save my life... so i ended theirs

I have 24 ounce plastic cube on my desk with a red Beta in it. Does that count. I have to replace the tap water every month or the water turns green. Don't have to feed it every day or week for that mater. $6 to replace it if it dies. My kind of pet.

Apparently my brother in law does it all the time when he takes people to this guys house to fish for the first time.

I have to admit, it was pretty damned funny.

Any problems with herons or raccoons?
Lost three fish to the Herons and then we installed a water scarecrow. Got it online somewhere at the suggestion of a local fish guy. Its a motion activated high pressure sprinkler. Works great and no more losses.

I figured as much.

They certainly put out some serious amounts of water...in a quickness.

Soaked me pretty thoroughly in less then a second.
