what if you made the trays out of foam with a thin plastic core they would hold as many as the original and be more sturdy. but i like the idea

laminating can be done, but it would not hit the $3-$4 price that I am looking for. These will work fine. Your idea is good for high end cases.

the cigar groves in these new trays will be 3/4" deep. they really hold your cigars in place.

if somebody wants to buy prototypes of the trays, lmk. the prototypes are just cut up foam robusto trays. 3 trays for the cigar caddy would cost you $11 shipped. would hold a 6 inch cigar.

FWIW, I wouldn't trade the reduction in capacity for the increase in tray quality. JMO.

2 customers now have prototypes. thumbs up from both. doesnt mean you cant use the original thin foam trays, just an option.
