If you ever get involved in a tourney here in SE Michigan, you got a place to stay.

Well, I see that you are correct-I should have looked at the Federal Register or CFR for the details, as I guess I am a violator. Wasn't worth IMO, as I said, so I guess I'll not "risk" it again.

Thanks for the update.

By the way, not on the subject of cigars at all, but I've got two daughters I need to start saving for college for-does anyone out there have a 529 or Coverdall account, and if so, how do you like them.

Thanks.

Jim
We have a 529 for my 11-year-old son and it works well for us. Although I'd rather that someone else made the deposits. And starting this year contributions will be tax-deductible in Arizona.

And BTW, I am a non-practicing attorney working for an insurance company in Arizona.

Well i just read each and every post in this thread and i can say it's been fantastic getting to know a littl background on all of you. I just made an intro post but i'll go a bit more in-depth.

My name is Neil, 20 years old. Been smoking cigars since i was about 17, hand-rolled's since i was about 18, and really started learning more about the art and craft of cigars and taking it more seriously about 7 or 8 months ago.

I was a student at the University of Oregon in eugene for a year and a half where i sang a cappella semi-professionally in the mens group On The Rocks, uoontherocks.com, i've been singing my whole life. I transferred and moved back up to portland with the intention of persuing an Engineering degree, in either mechanical or electrical engineering, but got lost on the way and am now very undecided and quite frankly frustrated at my lack of focus and motivation in school. (any and all advice or suggestions for careers would be greatly appreciated)

I love cars, mostly imports/tuning (and i mean more supra/skyline/rx7 than honda civic) and recently found an intense desire to get into sportbikes as well. I'm an avid poker player when funds allow, i love movies, i play World of Warcraft, I used to swim competitively.

I'm very gracious to be a member of this very unique brotherhood and to see people from so many different walks of life enjoy one common passion. And i'm looking forward to learning and contributing as much as i can here.

-Neil

Ok, my turn....

Got the cruise control set at 40 and holding steady.

1 wife, 1 kid, 1 mortgage, 2 dogs.
1st Member of BOTL in 2008 :applause:

I'm married to my high school sweetheart. We have one son who's 14.
I've been playing with computers and programming since the Commodore Vic 20.

Spent a lot of years working as a software developer. If you've purchased a new H-D motorcycle in the past 10 years - I probably worked on the software that rang up your sale.

More recently - if you've made a purchase at a particular chain of auto parts stores I probably led one of the teams that worked on the software that rang up your sale.

These days I'm working on helping an IT department work smarter not harder. Process Re-Engineering ah, its a wonderful thing

Other then that, I'm smoke'n and waiting for retirement. :smokingme

Hey all - joined about ... 15 minutes ago? ;)

I'm 33, single (with a girlfriend trying ferociously to change that) self-employed guy in Colorado Springs, CO.

I own two fly-fishing pro-shops and a guide service, which makes for a pretty natural segue into both pipes and cigars. Before Colorado changed our tobacco laws, we sold Partagas and Hoya de Monterreys in the shop - and no, I didn't smoke them at the time. No idea what I was thinking.

Aside from fly-fishing (just flies, I haven't touched a spinning/bait-casting rod in 25 years) and cigars (and pipes to a lesser extent), I'm a big reader, an aspiring gourmand, a beer snob, hunter/camper/hiker, and into videogames (I don't wanna grow up, I'm a toys-r-us kid) -- mostly XBox 360, though I do play World of WarCraft (but I can quit any time I want, dammit). I'm also into radio controlled cars / trucks - R/C rock-crawlers, monster trucks, and racing (electric; I don't fool with nitros).

I have a small, drafty house on the slope of Cheyenne Mountain (so, if we ever get nuked, I'll be the first to know, not that I'll be able to alert anybody) which I share with two cats and two dogs -- and the girlfriend when she's here.

Hi folks. I'm a 64 year old salesman for a material handling company. I live in the Twin Cities and during the winter all you do is sit at the computer and talk about smoking cigars. It is currently 1 above with 25 below wind chill. I enjoy fishing, grandkids and cigars. Good friends and good times. I hope to meet all of you somewhere down the path.

Howdy and welcome! There's an Introductions section of the forum you might want to check out...more people will see your intro post there. Glad to have you on board!

Also, I'm originally from Wisconsin, but I live in Mississippi now...and the only thing I like better about MS is that I could smoke outside tonight. That northern weather sure is something. haha.

I'm 55, don't feel it till I try to keep up with someone younger. Live in Grove City, Ohio and have been a peddler of software and hardware for the last 20+ years. I presently sell software. My passion is my other money pit besides cigars, my houseboat.
I have 2 kids, both through college and gamefully employed:clap:
I love to try new things, food, cigars, experiences....its what keeps you young.
Look forward to meeting folks on the board.

OK I'm in too. Married, 43, living near Philly. To support my cigar habit I sell software. For fun the wife and I ride our bikes (the kind with pedals) to far out places, watch too many movies, and scuba dive whenever we can. I do a weekly Hash with my local HHH club. (Think of it as a running club with a drinking problem or vice versa and there you have it.) I've done the occasional Ironman or Marathon to keep on my toes.

I am an IT Program Manager responsible for BETS and eDOGS Programs... Business Enabling Technology Solutions and efficient Delivery of Government Services. I manage a group of analysts who are responisible for software design and programming as well as Network System Engineers who are responsible for design and implementation. Currently I am also managing two enterprise projects over $6M.

I am currenly in my last year of Seminary to obtain my M.Div. I am a Deacon as well as I am the servant leader for our Men's Ministry. I also facilitate youth and young adult ministries.

I am an avid reader and news buff. I am the Offensive Line and Defensive Backs coach for a youth football league (I formerly coached at the HS level).

I have been married to this wonderful woman for over 24 years and have two sons both of whom I am very proud of. One, 23 is in the Marines and the other is 10 the one most likely to become a cigar aficinado.

I have been smoking cigars for about four years(seriously for the last 18 months) and have a love for Nicaraguan's. I have had others which I have tried and liked but, my go to is a Nic. I love VSG's and the few CC's that I have had have turned me into a HdM fanatic. They have got to do something about this damned embargo...

Lastly, as an early adopter of collaborative technology (I worked for Intel where we designed the Create and Share Camera, the Interactive Microscope and was part of several joint efforts with HP and Microsoft to design interactive tools) I must say that without a doubt, this is the very best site that I have ever been on/been involved with. There is a since of kinship and comraderie here that I have not enjoyed since leaving the Army.

I thank God for each and every one of you and pray His blessing upon your lives and that of your loved ones.

I love to play music. I like writing it and recording it and mixing it and producing it. I have a small recording studio at home. But there's nothing like playing with other great musicians and having that synergy, getting into the zone where you're not focusing as much on playing notes any more and instead being part of a sonic, organic whole. Sounds new agey, but it's not really like that. More like a high quality vehicle; all the parts working hard, together, to produce an amazing performance: speed, thrust, noise, acceleration, stopping on a dime, sheer energy.

My day gig is in IT, which I really enjoy, being a technogeek and all. I've been doing it for quite a while, but For the last few years my group has been producing "how to" videos on computing topics for which I get to do the audio post production and compose the soundtracks, along with some graphics animation creation. The best of both worlds!

Smoking cigars is something I mostly do with my 2 adult sons. The ladies in my life, my daughter, the eldest, and my wonderful wife, still think it's stinky :bouncetau I fell into this a year ago last winter by looking at a spam email from Thompson Cigar and thinking "that looks kind of cool." LOL.

Just found this thread yesterday and have read most the posts. It is great learning a little about each of the brothers behind the avatars. So here is a little about me.

I am 52 years young (making me one of the older BOTLs here I believe) I have been married to the love of my life for 23 years. I have 2 girls 21 and 19. The older girl works in Austin, and plans to go to Australia in December to attend a Ministry School. The younger daughter is a Jr. in college (Stephen F Austin) studying Photography. She also plans to enter the Ministry.

I am a 1979 graduate of Texas A&M University (gig 'em Ags) with a degree in Architecture. Upon graduation I went to work for a General Contractor and have been in the construction industry for 30+ years. About two years ago I went to work for a REIT as a Construction Manager. We develop shopping centers across the Southern US from Florida to California. I moved to Phoenix a little over a year ago and manage the Western US. There is a good chance I will be moving back to Texas this year (Dallas) to partner with my cousin to develop some property in So. Dallas. I hope this happens as I really miss Texas.

Other than cigars the main passion in my life is motorcycles. I have been riding for about 30 years. The last ten years on Harleys. My favorite thing is to take long road trips. I have been to many rallies and went to Sturgis in '06 and plan to go again this year. I have been to the Republic of Texas Rally in Austin 5 years running and plan to go again this year. The first 4 times were no big deal as I lived in Austin at the time. But from Phoenix it is about 1,100 miles. I love it!

My only claim to fame is I am related to Wyatt Earp. He was my Mother's Grandfather's cousin. I am no cowboy by any stretch, unless you count my "Iron Horse".

I have been floored by the brotherhood in this forum. I have already been the recipient of several packages of fine cigars. (Thanks, Asher, Coolhand, Altercall and Dpricenator!!) I smoke about 10-12 cigars a week and purely enjoy them. I plan on a trip to Honduras in September to tour some cigar operations and I cannot wait.

I look forward to learning more about the art of the cigar form the Brothers here at BOTL!!

I am a 22 year old male nurse. I am recently married to my wife who I was hooked up with over the internet. I have been a nurse for 3 years. The first two years I spent at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Saw a lot of stuff... including the amish school shooting and princes from the middle east. Now I work ER at a small ER in south Jersey (not the best place to work no matter what they say). I am looking to move jobs soon. I am going to school to get a masters in Nursing focusing on a Family Nurse Practitioner. I have been a EMT-B for 6 years now. I currently am a crew chief on my local squad. I love saving lives.
I enjoy working with technology. I was a windows man for a while but recently converted to Apple. Loving every min.
Other hobbies I enjoy are reading, port, and guns.
I was introduced to cigar smoking a few months ago by my brother. He bought a pack from the convenience store. I ordered a sample online to try the different flavors. I have enjoyed the cigars I have tried so far.
I have learned a lot from reading the posts. It is great to have a guiding light.

Hi I'm Jed and I like a good smoke!

I'm 41 live in S.E. Idaho ( read ultra northern Utah, Have to drive 150 miles to touch good cigar in an actual shop.) I've enjoyed a good cigar since the age of 12 scamming them from the local grocery store, at least I thought they were good back then. A few years in the USAF then another 8 in the USCG. Worked part time while serving Uncle Sam as a tobacconist where I discovered the wonderful world of pipes I'm up to about 60 or so in my collection. (provided that my wife and kids don't get their hands on them. They believe that the only good smoke is a dead smoke :noemotion) I'm currently a Telecomunications Tech ( I fix phones, install dsl and work on whatever you can talk over.)

I'm married for the second time to my first X, was hitched to a redheaded former Marine in between. Have a 19 year old daughter, a 12 year old step son, add 6 and 3 year old sons and one more on the way.... D&#% I could really use a cigar.:skew: Feel Like I've come home after a long deployment  Long Ashes Y'all !!!

I seemed to have missed this thread all along but here it goes; I'm turning 29 this June and getting married in October. I work as an attorney (litigator) specialising in Customs, sales and excise taxation. Business has been extremely slow over the last year due to the mini judicial crisis that's been taking place here but thing seem to be picking up and returning to some what normality.

Other than smoking cigars, I have a bunch of useless information (I guess you pick things up when you spend your days talking to smugglers, gangsters, customs and law enforcement agencies, love my music but can't play to save my life. My friends would refer to me as a tech head who loves destroying things. I love all thing electronic however obscure or useless and enjoy spending hours under the hood of a classic car currently working on a '65 Impala (atleast when I get the time). Other than that I have five dogs, two tortoises, a grey parrot, two macaws and a goffin (the wifey to be owns them parotts).
